Bought this because I'm realizing some of these ultra cheap reels are actually pretty good, especially for extra rigs, loaners, and gifts. May or may not last like a Shimano or Daiwa, but for $12 it's worth picking up.

Will it last the test of time? No. However, for a decent reel it's good for the price point. Also it's not 13 ball bearings more like 1 to 3. Still would buy again.

What a great reel for $9.99. Very smooth action, nice and tight everywhere and the handle is very solid. It feels like a nice, solid reel. The only negative is the "clack" sound when the anti-reverse kicks in. It's not a one-way bearing, but maybe a 20-tooth pawl. I'm fine with it for the price, but they shouldn't advertise one way bearing when it isn't. Still, what a buy for $10! ... show more

    • Drag would not set. Poor value!
I lake shore fish. We were devastated by mountain fires and fishing plans were placed on hold. Well, the drag on this reel wouldn't set. To late to return, I'm stuck with a worthless reel and a fishing trip spoiled.
