Easy to install with a little bit of thinking. Keeps things mostly dry, unless you are power washing at an angle, on the seam. Lays nice a flat to the sides of the truck bed. Pull cords to release locks could have a little better security plate from the tailgate side. If you got a wire hanger you could easily open the latches. The rigid panels seem strong and don't buckle in the wind like other brands or types. Price is half of the competitive brand, but keep in mind that this cover will not fully fold up to the cab, unlike the Bakflip. You can open up about 70% of the bed space without having to unscrew the main mounting brackets. Was able to get about a 5% increase in fuel economy with having the wind drag. Overall, I have been very happy with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone. ... show more

This cover should be considered when buying a Tonneau cover for your truck. I wanted a Tonneau cover for my new F-150, having previously purchased a BAKFlip from Bakindustries for my son's F-150. I was again going to purchase a BAKFlip. However, my new F-150 had an automatic tailgate, and I didn't want to mess around raising the cover before closing the tailgate. Following some research, I opted for the Gator EFX Hard Tri-Fold Truck Bed Tonneau Cover, and it's an advantage for me because I could open and close the tailgate without lifting the bed cover. A bonus was that it was more cost-effective than the BAKflip. It took about an hr to fit, taking my time to ensure a good, snug fit. Looks fantastic, and the quality is great. Installation was straightforward, as the included instructions were perfect. The only area where the BAKFlip has this particular model beaten is that you can fold back all 3 panels; with the Gator EFX, the third panel is fixed. I don't intend to use the bed for tall large items, so this wasn't a major problem. The panel is very lightweight, making both opening and closing super easy for my wife, and during those occasions that I may want to transport larger items - removing the cover in its totality will be easy. The only area that I can't give feedback on yet is waterproofing. However, the supplied fixing strip and drain tubes shows consideration from Gator regarding this. Having ensured that daylight can't be seen during installation - I'm highly confident that this won't be an issue. I'll update you as and when. Crossed my fingers that this would fit an 08' f150 with the optional 6.5 bed. Perfect flush fit. Only flaw is drivers side rail was a bit shorter and did not have drain outlet. Installed on my own fairly easily getting the first clip on and balancing rail was a little tricky without mechanics coordination but doable. ... show more

One of the best purchases. I'm kicking myself for waiting so long to buy it. It took less than an hour to install it by myself. No leaks. Drove across the country, it was raining and no water got into the bed or the truck.

I am not happy at all, I bought from Gator because I bought one of their t-covers about 7yrs ago and that cover blows the new one they sent The old one sealed up on the bed rail to the point there were no light gaps, It folded up against the cab with support rods, it would close solid, the new one has gaps, feels cheaply made, does not fold up against the cab, has these cheap plastic hold downs, Also I paid a lot less for the old one, Another is if you go to their website there is no one you can talk to about this, Take my word for save a little more money and get one from someone else ... show more

The cover is great. strong and durable. But the clamps that hold the rails to the bed are not right. when you tighten the clamps they slip off the metal of the truck bed. I have adjusted and tried to make them right with no luck. I ended up drilling through the rails into the lip on the truck bed and putting in some large screws to hold them properly. If I hadn't done that my cover would have blown off somewhere and who knows the damage it could have caused. I emailed the company in January of this year (2023) and again in February. It is the end of April now and I have not heard anything from them. So good product but don't expect any customer service from them. Will never by another cover from this company. ... show more
