  • Lots of fun but requires a bit of work before using it. Read this review.
The media could not be loaded. I debated a lot before I bought the Axial Ryft RBX10. I did not want what’s called a "basher" cars, like an Arrma Kraton or Notorious. They go very fast but require plenty of empty space to be able to play and don't climb that well. I wanted a truck that I could take out to the park, drive it fast when I wanted, take out to the trails and dirt, drive over rocks and water in creeks. My son and I really enjoy our Ryft. This RC truck requires a little bit of work. Here is what you need before taking it out. These notes are from my experience. I am not a pro, so my feedback is from a regular user. 1. Get an Axial sway bar on Amazon, it's $20. it will help you go straight otherwise this truck goes crazy when it goes fast (especially with a 4S battery). Axial makes a great sway bar. 2. Buy a stronger servo for the front of the car. I would suggest a 35 KG servo. The one that comes from the factory is junk. It broke the second day on me and Axial still needs to ship me a replacement. Installing it is pretty simple, lots of videos online. I suppose you can wait till yours breaks to replace it. 3. Get metal underbody body protection. it’s under 30 dollars and worth it for the future just in case you go hard on the car. It will cover the underbody parts (see my pics). 4. Get a good battery for it. You don’t need the Spectrum battery. You can get other batteries like RC Surge batteries that will last longer playtime and are better priced but great quality. The Axial Ryft can take 3S or 4S batteries with EC5 plugs. 5. Buy some basic mini hex tools because you’ll need to take off a bunch of screws to put some parts on. Some other comments: This RC truck can drive on any terrain, rocks, grass, bit of water, gravel, etc. The RC truck requires 4 AA batteries in the remote, and you'll need a 3S or 4S battery with EC5 plug, get 1 or 2 from RC Surge or Spectrum. This is an advanced RC truck, so may not be the best for young kids. I'd suggest getting simpler RC trucks before having a kid use this. It's great for adults. With some practice and the upgrades that I've suggested above, you'll truly enjoy this! The truck is waterproof, but not made for your pool or to be used like a submarine :) I've drive it in water that touches it's underbody and no issues. Playtime is about 30-40 minutes with Spectrum battery and 40-60 minutes with RC Surge. If you want to take it out for a full day, but a few batteries. When taking it on trails, take some basic hex tools with you, just in case something pops out when you go hard. Trust me it does. Thats all, I hope you enjoy the car. Show some love :) ... show more

  • My Absolute Favorite Basher
The Ryft is my favorite basher or general purpose vehicle. I've done the 2-speed conversion, a bunch of aluminum and changed the radio system and servo. Basically the only stock parts left of mine are the motor and esc, the radio box, the roll cage frame, and the front axle shafts. It's pretty well indestructible at this point. Whether, racing around the yard at absurd speeds on 4S or crawling around some rocks slowly, I always have a good time driving my Ryft. My only real complaints are that the truck has to be disassembled to get to the radio box and that the 2-speed conversion that Axial sells does NOT work as is and needs a bit of grinding to work properly. Nevertheless, the Ryft is always a good time. ... show more

  • Cheaply made
Cheaply made suspension parts. Right out of the box shock strut end broke. Not worth 500$ if you have to constantly replace small parts. Had receiver binding issue as is most buyers. They’ll send you a replacement but it’s the same one and has the same issue. They will stop responding to emails when you ask for a refund. Worst customer service Jeff in tech support is awful. Wait times on hold is close to an hour. Would not recommend this truck or horizon hobby. ... show more

  • Ryft rock bouncer by Axial
This Axial Ryft is a great RC with 4S lipo--lots of torque and speed. Though it is a rock bouncer-- I drive it mostly in dirt and sand. The Super Swamper Bogger tires are great but NOT for crawling. If you are going to rock bounce it or crawl it or really bash the hell out of it --recommend you buy Pro-Line tires with bead lock rims and buy metal axle housings from VitaVon and metal side arms as the plastic ones tend to break easily when using all the torque to conquer rocks. For $499.99 withOUT lipo battery or charger --it is NOT a bargain but fun--fun--fun. ... show more

  • Super disappointed get some thing different
First off you’ll spend more time flipping the thing back on its wheels then driving it. Durability sucks broke rear lower control arm the first 5 mins had to order parts so a week later I got the part and broke front lower control arm. So I ordered it and a sway bar kit. That helped with the roll over a bit except in grass. This thing sucks in grass. Steering servo never returns to center. It’s all ways going a different direction instead of returning to center. So I have to turn the stability control all the way up. To get this damn thing to go in a straight line. Going to have to fork more money on a steering servo. I would never recommend this to any one. Really pissed off. For the money I spent. Over $500 I feel like a idiot for buying this thing. All ready spent over $200 in upgrades, repairs and batteries. I should of bought Losi Grave digger instead. I don’t even want to use the damn thing. I like to maintain and fix rc cars and trucks but this is ridiculous. I haven’t even run though one battery and this has happened. ... show more
