  • Very good in all aspects
So this is a legit review by a person that used to be a professional in the industry. First I have had this same alarm 10 years ago. There is no real changes except for the look of the two way controller. So for the person who said "I need a real alarm" this is just as real as DEI. This alarm comes packed with features, one very interesting one is 7 output channels to control things such as windows, trunk pop... Etc.. no one in the industry has that many outputs. My previous Audiovox lasted 5 years ( I got rid of the car) and this one is operating fine. If you are not a professional or electrical verse this will be difficult ( possibly dangerous) to install. So for those who said their alarm is defective chances are it's an install issue. On the other hand because this has so many options your local shop will probably buck at the thought of installing because it's looks non standard. The value of this alarms surpasses all in features, same quality as DEI but is more difficult to install. Audiovox is not a new company and most things it makes is sub par... But thier alarms our on point. ... show more

  • Awesome customer service! Great product!
The 1st. Remote starter system I ordered shipped quick and was as advertised except the first unit did not work. I installed all of the wires correctly but it would not come on or link up to its antenna at all. I knew the problem had to be in the main control module. I contacted the seller with my problem and she quickly sent me out a new control module and the preprogrammed remotes within a couple of days. I just unplugged the 1st unit and plugged in the cables connectors to the new unit and within 10 minutes I had it worrying perfectly. Even though I had problems with the product the customer service was outstanding! I felt they deserved 5 stars. I installed on a 2005 F250 King Ranch 4x4 CC. It is not easy to install though if you have no experience. I wouldn't recommend a self install if you have never done at least any kind of audio/video installs before. I've installed other remote starters and scores of stereos so I didn't have a lot trouble but IMO the experience level to do this install would need to be at 7-8 out of 10. If you can follow instructions and wiring schematics fairly well maybe a lesser experience person might still be successful. I just wouldn't try it if I was less experienced. But that's me. ... show more

  • Great alarm/remote combo. 100 yard distance (300 ft) for me will work everytime
Great range! I can reach my car from about 100 yards away. The confirmation is nice too. Only thing I don't like is that the blue light on the dash blinks three times every time I press the brake. It's bright at night and kinda annoying. Otherwise, great remote/alarm combo

  • Arm Yourself As Well As Your Car When You Catch That Low Life Thief With This Alarm.
Ok ,,, just a few weeks after installing this alarm into my vehicle it saved my sweet stereo system or car from being stolen. I was in the shopping center and I was waiting for my wife to do her thing when all of a sudden the alarm on the remote went off while I was enjoying my burger and a chocolate milkshake. I didn't think anything of it considering that it would go off whenever a loud rolling vehicle passed by such as a truck or a motorcycle. But then I noticed that I had disarmed that shock sensor on the remote by double clicking the lock button twice until the shock sensor icon showed up. Well, I got up and ran towards my car which was quite a distance away and wondered how on earth did the remote alarm feature pickup the signal from so far and thought to myself this must be some false alert. Upon approaching my vehicle, I watched a mother@#$% turd testing my vehicle! I've got a sweet ride with a nice sound system installed, I've had my sound system ripped off before in my previous car which had those one way remote alarm and i'll tell you them sons of @#%&& know how to get around that type of system real quick. The two way system is what catches them off guard...! Just as a note, the thief did not open the car doors, He opened the bonnet first because no alarm was going off. I stood beside a tree and acted as if I wasn't noticing anything occurring while I called the cops. He then walked up to the vehicle only to stop for a second to press the bonnet down and continued walking towards the mall. He reached several yards away and stopped to light a cigarette while a couple shoppers passed him on their way to their cars. He waited a few seconds and began walking back to my car. Within a few seconds he opened the door and got in the driver's side. Seen as I live in a certain third world country where the cops usually arrive the next day if you're lucky, I decided to take matters into my own hand cause I can't afford to put another claim on my insurance for damages again. To make things short, I picked up a rock and ran up to the car and yelled at him, as he was getting out of the car I laid that rock on the top of his head as hard as I could and watched him drop to the ground like a hot potato then I dragged him by his foot into the middle of the car park kicking him like a one legged man in a butt kicking contest. The man was a larger man in size than me and if he had gotten up, he might have take me down so I created a hell of a noise by yelling thief with many curse words while kicking him as hard as I could. By that time a crowd had gathered around us and started to beat the man senseless. At one point several people in the crowd pulled knives and wanted to cut him to pieces (Thank God for third world justice!) Had this been the United States, everyone would have pulled out cell phones instead. Lucky for him a police car was passing and saw the man bleeding and begging for his life while people were yelling kill that #%@@% thief..! Well the alarm did its job, the manual was a bit difficult to understand while doing the installation but it was worth it. What the manual fail to mention was to arm yourself with a BIG ROCK, GUN, KNIFE or a MOB when you catch a low life in your vehicle. ... show more

  • 1 yr later
After a year installed. The doors do not unlock anymore. Last week the siren stopped. I have no clue what to do with this thing. It still locks and remote start works.

  • I have 3 and they all work well!
I have purchased and installed 3 of these units, 2 of them over a year ago and one last month. They are a seemingly reliable system which works well for us in Alaska. The 04 Silverado I installed in did need a bypass module, but was all easy to install. The 01 Dakota I installed it in needed some resistors for the lock and unlock to work, not an issue with this system, but the way dodge designed the system. Lastly I installed it in my 95 GMC Sierra and again, an easy installation, this time needing no other parts. I recomend when you order it getting possitap connectors (also on amazon). My favorite part is all the options it’s capable of, especially the auto start at 0 degrees even while I’m sleeping! ... show more

  • Replacement LCD remote needed already
I bought my alarm in February and already the LCD screen remote battery had to be changed three times. I have resorted to using the other remote because the LCD screen remote just shuts down at will. Does anyone know where I can purchase a replacement LCD remote for this model? I can't seem to find any on Amazon. Apart from that huge issue, the system was working well. ... show more
