  • Big flames small price
Style: Multifunctional Wood Burning Stove
Honestly they're really aren't any negatives to this little stove, at least none that aren't user error. Making sure to have a proper size skillet to ensure proper cooking is definitely something you'll need. But! This little thing did great. I took the top cross peices off, filled it with some charcoal, and cooked 4 burgers no problem. Actually had to get up and put the fire out later that night because it kept going. Be sure to bring some sort of windbreak to keep the wind from redirecting the flame. Absolutely best bang for your buck. ... show more

  • Hard not to like
Style: Wood Burning Stove
I took the stove on a 2 week sea kayaking trip to Baja California. There were three other stoves on the trip, an IKEA hack stove and a TOAKS titanium and an Ohuhu . The ATiPA just worked better than the others. The IKEA was ok but had issues in the wind, rusted immediately and it lacked a focused a flame for smaller pots. The TOAKS was too tall and unstable and it’s tiny high fire box needed feeding constantly. Plus being so high you couldn’t use long sticks to feed it easily. The Ohuhu was a top feed and worked ok but was bulky and you needed short sticks to make it work and still set your pot down. We were using a lot of mesquite driftwood and it was super hard to brake short enough to fit without hurting your hands. Basically all 5 of use ended up using the using the ATiAP and taking turns as it was so much easer to use. Pros: Easy to feed even with long sticks as the fire box and opening is close to the ground. A pretty focused flame for smaller pots. When really stuffed with wood it seems to not burn too hot because of some air restrictions and allows the wood to burn a little longer but still with a lot of heat, a more controlled burn rather tan say the IKEA hack stove that ate wood like crazy and half the heat just went out the sides.. it’s well enough machined and went together easily once you get the hang of it. It’s less susceptible to wind than the others with solid sides and it’s small openings at the top of the stove helped focus the flame and help keep the flames from just blowing away from the bottom of the pot . It packs smaller than any of the others by a lot. Cons:… dirty hand putting it together or taking it apart. I had never used one of these flat packing wood stoves before and was somewhat skeptical, but really it turned out to work incredibly well. There’s nothing fancy about it just to basic good design. Since I wasn’t carrying this on my back I added a small 5 x 5“ 3 mm thick aluminum plate that I could rest on top of the stove. This worked well for simmering food and not burning things on the bottom of a thin titanium pot. I could cook rice for 20 minutes and not burn anything. It also works well for tortillas as a makeshift Comal. It’s so small and worked so well I’m getting another for a duel stove kayaking setup. Really just a good piece of kit. ... show more

  • Beats Uberleben by a leap!
Style: Multifunctional Wood Burning Stove
After purchasing almost the whole Uberleben line and getting sent two defective products, I returned them all, boycotting their product line which is just as Chinese as this product. The only reason this gets a 4/5 is that it's a copied Chinese design of the Emberlit Titanium Stove which runs for about $60-80 USD. However, this was machined properly and assembles well, and is half the price - that's how Chinese imports should be, unlike the poorly machined Uberleben products. I have family that worked in CNC for years and couldn't believe how crappy of a job Uberleben did, but were quite impressed with this stove, especially being in titanium. Uberleben cut my hand open and wasn't even built well enough to fit together properly. This one went together perfect first try and has the added two bars for an alcohol stove or fuel tablets. Where I live when it gets wet, it can be near impossible to find dry wood and tinder. If it was made in the USA, it would get a 5/5. Sorry @ Emberlit, but these stoves are not worth more than what Chinese brands are charging. This is a "good" Chinese product. You'll still want to be careful with the edges on disassembly but I was cut by the Uberleben stove because it did not fit together or come apart properly. These stoves are easy to assemble and if you are careful when popping the plates apart you won't have that problem. If you were on the fence about it, go with this one. If you can afford to spend double for the same thing to support the US economy, buy Emberlit. ... show more

  • Easy to use
Style: Multifunctional Wood Burning Stove
Set this up the other day. It was easy to assemble, and not overly sharp. The thing I was most impressed with was how quickly I was able to start a fire in it. I was able to both start a fire and boil water in about 15 minutes, and I am not a pro at starting fires! You can see from the pic that the draft in the stove can make quite a jolly fire! The only thing I wasn't expecting was how much soot was generated onto the stove itself and the kettle I was using. I'm sure this is totally normal, and more from the wood and not anything to do with the stove. Glad to have this stove for my apocalypse kit! ... show more

  • Great multifunction pack stove
Style: Multifunctional Wood Burning Stove
This lightweight little rascal serves two functions. It's very versatile and takes up almost no pack space. I find having alcohol is also good as a fire booster for getting the wood started. It does require a few minutes to assemble/disassembled and it gets sooty so be prepared for that.

  • A great value

  • Braces may infact warp
Style: Multifunctional Wood Burning Stove
The only thing I did not like with this piece was its affinity for the internal braces to bend and warp after use. If they were thicker it might not do that. Otherwise this was perfect to cook on and amazingly packable! Loved using it
