  • Premium external UHD 4K Blu-Ray Writer Super-Muti drive.
  • Support M-DISC BD-R. CNC aluminum body.
  • The UHD blu-ray drive can read UHD, read and write regular Blu-Ray, DVD, and CD with proper software. For regular blu-ray, DVD and CD, you can use whatever applicable software that come with your computer, or search for the proper software to install on your computer. For playback UHD blu-ray, we recommend using CyberLink PowerDVD. It is a 3rd party software that require additional purchase, and it is the only one that we found is reliable.
  • Please make sure your equipment meet the CyberLink PowerDVD requirement by going through a test by search " Ultra HD Blu-ray Advisor " before purchase. Please note that Cyberlink PowerDVD currently has only PC version. For MAC users there is no suitable UHD blu-ray software yet to the best of our knowledge. So on Mac computer you can only play and write regular blu-ray, DVD, and CD but not the UHD.

  • Just what I wanted to play some concert Blu Rays!
My first impression after receiving and opening the package is that the device itself felt sturdy, if not outright bulky despite its actual slimness, but it's well-built with a rather rough aluminum finish that seems to justify a product marketed as being 'premium'. It comes with a nice portable case that can fit the device and its cables, which is a nice addition to the product that I wasn't aware of when I initially ordered it. As my very first Blu-Ray drive, I am very satisfied with this item as it is capable of doing exactly what it says it can. I picked it over some other more reputable brands due to its affordable pricing and 4k support (although you need to patch its firmware first). By connecting it to my MacBook Air M2 (using the provided single type C cable, without needing an adapter or dual port connection like the Buffalo drive) and using the makemkv software, this drive can play (or rather when using this said app, extract) pretty much any Blu ray disc available - be it a regular 1080p BR, UHD (4K) BR, discs from any region or copy protection, bootleg discs, and afaik, even those with cinavia protection -at least in theory, as I haven't tried that many yet. They're also compatible with DVDs and CDs as well, and supports burning to all of these disc types. Since the app only does ripping and not playing, it is a good idea to have some external storage drives to keep these media for ease of access in the future. Despite being rather loud when in use and can be slow (up to 30 minutes or more when ring ripping a blu ray), I believe this Blu ray drive more than justifies its price. I've seen players twice the price that doesn't support half of these features (usually lacks 4k support and is fixed to a certain playback region/ has cinavia due to licensing requirements, etc.). Would recommend this external Blu ray drive for those who doesn't have any device to play 4k Blu ray discs yet (although cheaper/better alternatives exist for non 4k drives). It's affordable, does everything, and seems durable. The only ceveat is that there might be a lot to learn when getting started, especially when it comes to patching the firmware for 4k support and using makemkv - although this issue isn't specific to this brand/model, it's a generic software limitation for all such drives. However, many tutorials are available online and they are trivial to work with once you are familiar with it. ... show more

  • Great drive for use with MakeMKV
Bought this drive for ripping my DVD collection. Followed the instructions on MskeMKV and it has worked our perfectly. Like the fact that it is in a metal housing so very well protected.

  • Seller stands by their product
I bought this and it worked great for about a month and a half, then it stopped recognizing discs. I contacted the seller and they told me to return the broken one and they would send me a new one. I did have to pay shipping, that was the only downside. Once I gave the seller the shipping number they sent out the new one, even before they received the original one back. The player works very well for what I use it for and the seller is outstanding in their service. ... show more

  • Excellent Blu-Ray Playber but Problematic for 4K Titles
This sleek player is the best portable drive out there for playing Blu-Ray titles. However, I was not able to get it to play any 4K UHD titles. I have Windows 11 Pro PCs with current NVIDIA adapters. The 4K tiles would load and be recognized, but they would never play. I got a variriety of timed out error messages. The seller is responsive and earnest and they pointed me to a nifty free test tool on Cyberlink's weibsite. I hope that in the future a firmware fix from the manufacturer in China will solve the 4K UHD problem. I still rate this as a worthwhile drive because it is so great as a Blu-Ray player. ... show more

  • Works for me when I need it.
Guess its the long term review, I seem to have purchased in June of 2021, and it still does its job. I seen some people say that they went threw 3 of these in less time than I have owned my own. They could be using theirs a lot more than I use mine. It seems like forever ago when even a basic cd-rom drive was essential to install a program and yes even play a pc game, it had it to be installed by a dsic, but not anymore, so I don't use it much so maybe that's why it still works. I use mine for MakeMkv mainly, real it to get the firmware on. I also ordered this recently https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BG1M9XXT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 I needed a longer Micro B to usb-c cable and I tend to also prefer to go with UGREEN. That's all for my review on this beauty, If the drive ever goes bad, I will see If I can dissemble and just get a new drive. I hope some of you found this review helpful. ... show more
