This did not work with my Evolve III laptop, probably due to USB ports not providing enought power. Worked perfectly with my HP desktop. Had diffiulty writing DVDs. You need to get some "real" burner software (not the built in Windows 10 features) for this to work correctly. I downloaded the free version of Ashampoo and this worked fine. Still have trouble burning DVD-R, but DVD+R works fine. I bought this because of the great price and because of that I can't really complain. ... show more

I had to write a review bc it works great with my macbook and my pc. Love that it has two different cords that's built in and when you're done, you can just tuck it underneath the dvd player. Straight to the point, no complications once you plug it in and doesn't sound loud or vibrate like crazy when it's playing. Must get if you're trying to watch dvd's on a computer/laptop!!! 10/10 ... show more

    • Top quality external CD/DVD-read/write drive!
I purchased this product as, after years of use, my internal DVD-write drive had begun glitching and ruining discs during the write process. This new external drive arrived quickly and I am delighted that it immediately worked perfectly without any problems at all! I am running Windows 10 Pro and wasn't sure how easily it might install. I'm happy to report that it immediately recognized the new drive and began reading and writing seamlessly! This product is lightweight and easy to open and close; the only downside is that the connecting cord is exceedingly short so placement was awkward, although once I affixed the drive to the back of my computer using a zip tie to attach its cord to the power cord, it's not a problem. Be aware that if the drive is not somehow anchored to your computer, the process of disc ejection when it is finished recording will launch the drive itself so that it hangs by its cord. This was easily remedied, however, by affixing it with a zip tie. A velcro strip affixed between the computer & drive would work well as an alternative also. All in all, this product exceeds my expectations and is a top quality buy for the price! ... show more

This drive did an excellent job ripping my CD collection of 30 years. Some things were marked "In-accurate" in the dBpoweramp CD ripper software, but still sounded fine. Great software for ripping, btw. Well worth the money as well. Easy to use all around (both drive and software). Window 11 user
