This works fine with my Mac and I love it. Problem is, I bought it to work with my Windows 11 laptop and it doesn’t because Microsoft no longer offers CD/DVD-rom drivers with all versions of Windows 11 and you can’t tell whether yours does until you try to install and external drive. Their reasoning is “no one uses these anymore.” The real reason is cost. The trouble is, Origbelie doesn’t offer drivers either. So, buy this for a Windows 11 and you’re screwed. Or maybe not. I bought the CD player so I could review some of my X-rays I got from the hospital. It worked great. I attached the USB in to my Mac and once it read the CD it popped up on the screen. It’s small and comes in a cute bag. It’s not very heavy at all. It is a pretty loud when it’s trying to read the disc like loud airflow and spinning of the cd but I think that’s pretty normal in cd players. Overall solid ... show more

I primarily wanted this to make backups of all the DVDs I still have laying around. It worked for the first couple but then just stopped. I had to go through all the troubleshooting steps multiple times every time I loaded a new disc. Reviews seem pretty ok for people using it for CDs so maybe it's just me. Update: After I wrote this review and initiated the return process, I decided to try one more time. I restarted my computer (again), plugged the drive into a different USB port (again - I'd been alternating between the ports available and they all worked inconsistently), and loaded a disc. Lo and behold! It worked. And it has been working well ever since. Maybe my computer just needs to be restarted 5 times before it counts? Maybe the company should add "threaten to return the device so it feels bad and stops throwing a tantrum" to its troubleshooting tips? Whatever made it happen, it is working well enough now. Not super fast, but it'll do the job. Unless it stops working again. We'll see. ... show more
