I bought these so my canoe would not rest directly on the aerodynamic cross bars on my roof rack. Those bars are not removable so the block needs to be placed on the bar. The material is not flexible enough to allow one to do this without damage to the block. I ended up cutting a larger width slot in the block to make it easier to place them on the bar. ... show more

The price is right for what you get. The foam blocks hold our 17 foot canoe securely to the top of our Outback. We use tie down straps over the top of the canoe and it doesn't move at all.
