I needed something to keep my tropical 3-gal mini aquarium at an ideal temp, and this did the trick. it's very tiny, has a long enough cord to reach my outlets, and is easy to set and operate. I like that the heater itself is tiny enough that I can bury it in the substrate for aesthetics.     • Good discrete heater for small tanks

Ordered 3 of these for my betta tanks that I was having overheating issues in, and wanted a digital adjustable micro heater. Unfortunately one arrived not working giving a consistent E1 error no matter how submerged I tried it. Contracted the seller and they promptly responded and sent me a replacement no questions asked. The replacement arrived fairly quickly, and works just as perfectly as the others. So far so good! They keep steady temp and are able to be discreetly hidden behind the plants. Definitely would recommend if you have small tanks near a window or in a room that has frequent temperature swings. My boys’ bubble nests have tripled in size, lol.     • You have to get an external thermometer. Otherwise it works good if you've got the right wattage.

The thermometer built in to this heater will lie if you have a wattage that is too weak for the size of the bowl / aquarium. We originally bought the 10W for a 1 gallon then we got a 5 gallon and it started getting cold at night. The temperature was saying it was at 80 however the fish was *very* stressed out and the water was cold. We got an external thermometer and found the water was around 74 when this heater said it was at 80. When we got the 30W it started doing really well, keeping it at 80 and saying it was at 80. This heater works really well and is incredibly small when you've got the right size wattage! ... show more

I got my first of these Heaters near a month ago for my 1gal. Betta bowl. Nifty (neat and easy to use), it's been a perfect fit for the compact bowl space, with a digital control combining thermostat (to set the desired heater temp) and thermometer (to show the actual aquarium temp). Loved it so much, I then got a second one, this for my cylindrical 2gal. community tank which is home to six Guppy/Molly/Platy fishes. Yes, it is overcrowded but I closely monitor the tank's water quality and other parameters as well as the fish behavior there. And all the guys are doing well, as shown by their feeding habits, mobility, even schooling activity. Relying on these Heaters for keeping both of my minimal aquaria at an optimal 80°F I've felt confident that all is well. Until the last day or two… my apartment has cooled somewhat from its usual 75°F or so down to 68°F, nothing drastic. Yet the two heaters now seemed taxed to hold their spaces at the 80°F I've set. Each aquarium now hovers at 74°F, shown by the controls of each heater and verified by strip thermometers, one on each aquarium located up against the heater (at least for the Betta bowl). This is a mildly troubling issue on which I will update this review if warranted. ... show more

    • Quit working after 2 weeks

I'm very disappointed because i really liked this little heater. It's tiny and warmed my 5 gal with no problems. After 2 weeks of using, the tank needed a 50% water chang, so i unplugged the heater, done the water change, filled the tank back up, plugged back in and ... nothing Works great when it works...🤷🏼♂️ ... show more

    • Makes fish happier

The media could not be loaded. I can instantly tell that my fish are so much happier with warmer water! They're swimming around and exploring my tank more often instead of laying on the floor of the tank. They like to hang out near the heater to feel comfy. It makes no noise, heats the tank to the set warmth quickly, has great suction, and is very sturdy. It doesn't take up much space in my tank. As shown in the video, however, there is a difference in temperature shown on my external thermometer and the temperature set on the heater. It usually hovers around 73~74°F. My fish are still happy with this temperature though, so it isn't much of an issue! ... show more

    • USB connection is faulty. Suction holder won't stay put.

We purchased this for a small shrimp tank. Shrimp are very fragile...at least that is our experience. The temperature difference in our home between the evening and daytime can change dramatically, so we need the heater to be reliable. This tiny heater is perfect for our small 1.5 gallon tank. The controller is great, allowing you to click the desired temperature and the readout is big and bright. But the USB connection is poor and I have to constantly check to make sure it is getting power. Overnight, when the connection stops, the water gets very cold. Then I jiggle the USB plug or change to another one and I have to fiddle with it in order to get power, which is shown by the temp readout. So long as it gets power, it is great. But if something bumps or shakes the tank, even slightly, the heater will stop. Also, the suction holder is constantly coming detached, despite cleaning the glass constantly. Not sure why. Defect in the rubber? Overall I'm not very happy with this product. ... show more
