Top Amazon Reviews

  • For the price, cant be beat.
I usually don't write reviews, but the kind of mixed reviews I am seeing here made me want to say something. Ok, so let me start off by saying, if you are new to 3D printing, this is not the machine for you. Grab one of their cheaper versions or any other 3D printer you can find for a couple hundred bucks and work through the kinks there where it wont feel so much like you are wasting money. Because 3D printing in general is a bit fiddly, it is still a fairly new thing, so expecting it to come out of the box and just work without spending thousands of dollars is, unlikely. There are no printers in this price range that are just going to work, that don't need a bit of monitoring for a couple weeks to learn their quirks and keep them from killing themselves like a toddler, or that do not involve some kind of complicated setup. It is the nature of the beast. So, with that out of the way, if you are used to 3D printing, you likely will not find a better machine for the money. I ran a stock Benchy using each of the colors I had set up in their drying box (pretty impressed with it for the money, I can hear the fan and it puts out filament), essentially right after I finished building, using out of the box settings. The speed is good, bed adhesion is very good, layer lines are slight, spiderwebbing is slight and got better as it warmed up, overhangs are great in comparison to old Anycubic machines, and it took an average of 34 minutes per run. It got a little squirrely in the first run, I had to manually pull a ball away from the nozzle as it was trying to drown itself in molten plastic, but it only did it once so far, and I have dealt with other printers, so I know about their tendency to try and meet the great circuit board in the sky. So you need to watch it a bit. There was a little warping on run 1 and 3 along the roof support columns toward the top of the arch, and you get one big layer line on each around that spot for some reason, but 2 and 4 are like glass in that area. So I don't think it is the printer as much as settings and environment. The first was definitely the weakest overall, the white, and the best is probably the second, the black one. The last, the purple, has a couple issues that may not come across in the image, but it has a few spots where the printer just seems to have put a bad line, and there is a random thread going in weird directions. Not like it is a porcupine, I am probably being nitpicky as it is just two that I have found, but the black one is, for out of box settings, one of the better ones I have ever seen. For out of the box settings on an under $500 machine, it may be the best I have ever seen. It is louder than it needs to be, has very little dampening so it shakes like an old washing machine, especially when it gets going (though in comparison to older machines it is pretty decent and does not seem to affect these shorter prints, I will have to run some tall boys and see how it goes, and both it and the box show some signs of having been made for the least they could be made for. As an example, if one of your feeds for the dry box squeaks when it feeds, check your feed tubes. If there are just a little pinched or at a slightly weird angle, this this motors cannot cope with that. But I have had dry boxes that cost twice what this thing does spit out magic smoke in less than a day, so, eh. Just make sure your feed tubes are run perfectly straight, and enjoy not having to make your own with an old spool and a bunch of do not eat packets like the old days. So, is it perfect. No. Not even close. Its an under $500 printer. For that price, you have to understand what you are buying. Will it make what you want it to make, yep. Is it great in any category, not really. Is it a little challenging to get assembled and ready, yeah, it is very Chinese. As such, seems to almost be made for a Chinese audience, with US adaptation thrown on the top, which can add some layers of complexity. But every setup step if you look at it and actually think about it is quite apparent, and I did most of them slightly in the wrong order (which did not matter, which is good engineering) by just putting the things where they clearly needed to go and then looking at the instructions. But if you are looking for a printer that will do a four color feed, that will operate at these speeds, that has the quality on the end product this offers, that costs less than $500 with a multi-roll dry box/feeder, and that can work with out of the box settings, and you are not dreaming, then this is the only one I have ever run across that I can suggest. If you really want to spend a bit more, or you want something that is great in at least one category, go with a Bambu or Prusa, or something nice. If you want something cheap, that is surprising awesome, get this! ... show more

  • Great customer service!
I don't normally review products I purchase but Anycubic provided such great service I thought it was necessary. When I received the printer I found it to be a very sturdy machine. The printer was very easy to put together and get up and running. After assembly I had many problems with getting the printer to print consistently. The machine may print the first print fine but then would fail on the second time or may not have printed properly at even the first run. This was very hit or miss even printing the same model right from the printer. I contacted support and they were very timely in their response. The resolve that fixed the issue was a firmware update. I had updated the printer's firmware previously and it did not fix the issue but just as I was getting ready to send the machine back a new firmware released. Now the printer is working wonderfully. I have now gone on a printing spree and love the multi-material options. All of my other printers are single filament machines so I am excited to see what new things I can print in different colors. I also really like the drying feature of the ACE. Support even offered me a new roll of filament to replenish what I had used in my troubleshooting of the machine. I would highly recommend this printer and would definitely purchase from Anycubic again! ... show more

  • Best Printer Ever
Printer was super easy to setup and configure. The printing is way faster then my Ender 3 V3se. There may be a 2nd Anycubic in my future.

  • I love it but I have spent a lot of time working on it too
This printer really is great for anyone starting out - easy to set up, software is easy to work with and easy to learn as you get some time on the machine. The problem is that I have had the unit for 1 month and I have already had to completely disassemble the hot end to clear a really bad jam and now my x-axis belt has broken. That's a lot in a month. In addition to that, the parts aren't readily available. I went ahead and got a replacement hot end just in case, and have not ordered a new belt - I am looking at 2 weeks get here from over seas (nothing on here is quicker or with enough info for me to confirm that is the right part). I should not be doing this much maintenance on a brand new machine. ... show more

  • UPDATE Trying to be a Bambu but failing miserably
Anycubic contacted me and worked with me to get some settings updated and so far things seem to be working great! Thanks Anycubic for the fantastic customer service., I wanted to like this printer. I have a Bambu X1 and thought I'd try this one. I've had more problems than it is worth. It's definitely a generic version of the Bambu, down to the software you use. First, putting it together. Directions are horrible, not a right out of the box, take 5 minutes adding this or that kinda printer. The AMS, is another generic version of the Bambu. The #1 slot squeaks. Prints are nah. I could probably fiddle and make them better but I've had more misprints than I have complete prints. Instead of the printer shooting the poops down it flicks them-hard from the side. No camera, which I knew and could deal with. My latest print failure tells me the filament is tangled. I've removed from the AMS so I have no clue. The software is not easy to use(compared to Bambu) the color tools are not helpful. I thought about keeping it until they fix all these little issues. But It is a lot of money for a paper weight. Returning and I'll get a smaller Bambu while they are on sale. ... show more
