    • Interesting Ankle Brace
I've worn an ankle brace periodically since tweaking an ankle playing volleyball in the '90s. The brace that I've worn previously is basically the same size and shape as this one but it is 100% neoprene. As such, it can be difficult to put on or take off, particularly when the joint is sore. This brace (there are two in the package) is rather different. It consist of a very thin nylon-like sock with the toes and heel cut off, and an elastic strap with velcro on the end of one side, sewn to the sole of the foot. As such, the braces are very compact. Both of them come in a surprisingly small zip lock pouch that is easily stowable. Just looking at it, I wasn't immediately sure how to put it on. Fortunately there is a little instruction card in the package that spells it out. You slip the sock on so that the elastic straps are laying flat on the floor under your foot, grasp both strap ends, crisscross them on the top part of the ankle joint, wrap them around the back of your foot and attach them together up above the heel. The pluses of this approach is that it is very easy to slip the nylon sock on as it doesn't put a strain on the joint the way pulling on a neoprene brace does, so it is also much easier to remove. At first I was concerned about where the straps overlap and whether they would interfere with my shoes. I was able to attach the straps just above the back of the shoe so I don't feel it. I'm not sure that high tops would be as comfortable with this brace as the double thickness of the strap might dig in to the back of the leg. I do not feel that this brace provides as much support as my neoprene brace, but being much easier to put on and remove may be the tradeoff that you need to make. My neoprene brace also provides more warmth to the ankle joint which, depending on your activity, may or may not be a desirable feature. Still, this is a good, light duty ankle brace that will definitely have a place in my med kit. ... show more

    • Wish they fit better
I have problems with weak ankles so I ordered these in hopes that they would give support when I’m walking. Since they’re a little too big for me the support is minimal on my ankles. They do offer good support on the arches of my feet though. I think if they were the right size they would work fine. They’re much thinner than others I’ve used in the past so I’m not sure how they’ll hold up over time ... show more

Provides great compression to the foot overall, I ended up putting it on upside down but honestly felt comfortable both ways. Not too much pressure but provides a supported feeling when walking around with it on
