  • This thing is so cool!
Size: 8.5'' AD208
I saw this in use on a YouTube soldering video and thought it would be handy for so much, including just general science exploration. Within hours of receiving it, my kids helped me spot some mites on our house plant leaves and we'd had a blast looking at money, tools, hands, etc under the microscope. It's so much more accessible than an optical microscope and the images are easily shared. We had a small birthday party gathering a few days into ownership and several other dads oohed and aahed over it with me and a few said I'd probably sold a few based on my demos. Two thumbs up for sure. ... show more

  • Great Image Quality
Size: 8.5'' AD208
I was a little concerned when I saw the other review about image quality being poor, but I think they got a bad unit. The one I received is fantastically clear. I have no issues focuses, near, far, wherever you are, soldering stuff. I will say that there are a few plastic parts that feel cheap, and make me concerned considering it's only a 1 year warranty. Also, and this is important, there's screen lag when running at 1080P. I dropped resolution to 720P, and the lag is virtually unnoticeable. This can be an issue for soldering, but at 720P it worked great. The thing that bothers me the most is the LED lights. They position fine, but there's something about them that irritates my eyes. I don't know if there's flickering, or if it's just the color temperature, but they definitely bother me. I do recommend this, but keep those caveats in mind. ... show more

  • I’d find a cheaper one they do the same thing.
Size: 7'' AD206 Black
I liked everything about this product. Really I did truly it was awesome. However, if you are buying this for the purpose of viewing a coin, you can just as easily get one of the ones that is Wi-Fi adaptable and view the screen of your iPhone like I do. Yes I bought two of them. That way I get a different perspective of coins when I need one. I just spent under $20 for one and after I remembered what I paid for this one, I realized I could have found a much better price because it basically does the same thing as the $20 one. Although it has lights on the side,, sometimes they can cause more problems then benefit as they create shadowing. Which is unnecessary if you are trying to grade Coins especially trying to find a double die error in Coins. It makes it a lot more difficult so I have to remove the lights for that aspect. The way it zooms is really awesome but I have found that the remote control has a lot to be desired and it didn’t do like I had assumed it would. Overall the visual acuity is really clear and it is a great product. I cannot fault them for that. I hope this helps. Thanks for reading my review. ... show more

  • Great item if you're on a budget
Size: 7'' AD206 Black
This scope is surprisingly good for the cost. Microscopes get ridiculously expensive, but if you are a hobbyist, this may be a good one for you. I purchased this model primarily to work on pcb's. It's great for small boards or cellphone repair, but a full size motherboard is not going to fit under this one :( I am doing some modifications to mine and will try to remember to upload pics when I am finished. It would be perfect if it moved horizontally even if it was just 4-6". If you are not needing the ability to take pics or make videos, you may be better off buying one of the smaller ones that can connect to a monitor or HDTV, but it is nice to have the image right in front of you (and with excellent quality). ... show more

  • Excellent budget tool for soldering.
Size: 7'' AD206 Black
This has been a great tool! I don't know why I waited for so many years to get one. I use it for soldering. I was torn between this and the AD207 and the AD407. I decided to save some money and have been very satisfied. Only problem was one of the bolt holes was stripped. The bolt would just fall out. I used a small piece of copper solder dewicking braid. It cinched right up. Doesn't require a lot of torque. 1 star off for the bolt. Wish I could do 4.5 stars. ... show more

  • More than I was expecting.
Size: 8.5'' AD208
Image quality is quite good, and with its built in lighting this device is more than adequate for SMD solder work. The ability to take photos or video I didn't need but might come in handy for someone looking at this product. The knobs and gearing in the stand height adjustment are a bit clunky and might wear out quickly, however with a bit of lithium grease and a gentle hand they should hold up. ... show more
