  • Works great!
Easy to use and ha old a good charge. Has great magnification. Dimmable light on lens makes it easier to focus.

  • Easy to assemble
It has great focus and sharpness to see very small things like the mint marks on your coins. The lighting is great and it doesn’t have a lot of glare. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a microscope without paying a lot of money. Great price for a nice microscope.

  • Pretty decent for beginners, though overpriced
It isn't bad overall. It has a pretty good picture and is very easy to set up and use out of the box. I can not say whether or not it can actually zoom to 1200x, but certainly not in its current design. More on that later. I got this for coin hunting. This scope does well for beginners like myself. However, there are many things I would change. Magnification: Pros - it has a wide range and great picture. Zoom is two tiered and simple to use. It is very easy to zoom in and out in small increments Cons - The riser is short and does not allow a wide field of view when all the way up. It makes it difficult to capture an entire coin on screen. When zoomed in all the way, the lens protector is in the way of further magnification or subject manipulation. I would replace the riser with a taller piece. A shorter lens protector would allow more zoom as well. I used basswood to raise everything 5 inches and it gave me a lot more versatility when needed. Lighting: Pros - The lighting is very bright, perhaps too bright. The additional lights can be helpful. Cons - A backlight or some other indirect lighting would give less glare and more natural illumination. The flexible conduit is a little difficult to position, and could be a few inches longer for positioning. They are very bright when it comes to additional lighting, and opaque lenses would be very helpful. I added masking tape to soften and spread the light which reduced glare a lot for better pictures. Additional: The aluminum plate is nice, but it is too reflective for the lighting. A black foam rubber mat like the one I added would be a big help. Connectivity and controls: The remote is simple and easy to use. A longer cord would be great, cordless would be even better. Touchscreens are extremely inexpensive, and would help make this a better buy. The main buttons on the display might be better on the top. I connected the microscope directly to my laptop and was given the choice of mass storage access, charging, or PC camera. However, I have not yet found a way to switch between the three without unplugging the USB cable - which turns off the microscope. On the plus side, with the Windows camera app taking the pictures I can quickly move the pictures to where I need them without messing with the SD card. This microscope isn't a bad option, especially for a first unit in hobbies. It performs well and is easy to use. But there are several inexpensive ways this could be improved to make it worth the purchase price. ... show more

  • Excellent microscope for the price!
Decent construction although the assembly that raises and lowers the scope can be a bit wonky, if you try to adjust the monitor, the mechanism slips and the scope slides down the boom. I like the lights, no shortage of lume here, almost blinding. I find I need to move the side lights away when working on shiny material. Takes pictures and records video which is excellent, video quality is pretty sharp. Playback is good as well, records video in segments so you can go back and watch one at a time or jump to where you want to go. There is no fast forward or rewind so this feature is nice to keep you from having to watch the entire video when looking for a particular part. All in all, great item for the cost. I mainly use it for watch repair but the family has found several uses for it as well which is probably going to make me get another, I don't like to share! ... show more

  • Bang for buck
The screens are good. Everything works fine. THERE is an antiglare scope cover when you solder, which is a HUGE plus. I wish it had more room but every miscor scope is small in this procedure section so not going to fret about it > Good buy over all

  • Easy set up
Set up only takes a couple of minutes. The tilt screen makes it easier to view. Adjustable lights brighten the object you are viewing. Coins are really enhanced making it very easy to pick out any errors that might exist. A great microscope for coin collectors.
