This car is not a toy! It is high quality and super fast right out of the box and with the included gears and a 3s battery it’s almost to fast to control I run it on blacktop at the school behind my house and so far I get 2 battery charges per set of tires Super fun full speed drifts. I will purchase a set of belted tires next and see if tires don’t last a little longer. Over all I’m very pleased with the quality and build for the money. I see this company doing great things in the near future ... show more

I really love this AK917 RC, but I had to replace a wheel bearing and Steering Hub after only an hour of use. The AK917 is a great design, but the mfg. Q.A. was a little weak, as I had to re-route an ESC wire to Motor, replace a missing screw, and upgrade to CNC Alum. Hubs. The steering is very solid now, and I'm glad to get rid of the plastic Hubs (see picture). This RC is very quick with just the 2S (included) LiPo battery, and will take up to 4S 14.8V LiPo's, for even more speed ! The tires included are very firm, and are holding up really well, just drifting around. This car is beautiful both inside and out, and the carbon chassis version is stiff and looks durable. Overall I think this is a great find with all you need to start driving already included in box! I suggest a partial disassembly, to to see that all is in place before any real shredding, otherwise you will be thrilled at the speed and handling of this RLAARLO AK917. As you can see in the pictures, the item came broken and I believe that’s because the remote does not fit properly in the case with the car in it, and it broke off a piece of the chrome and the rear frame the right back light. Inner bolts on the frame are rusted when it is supposed to be a brand new vehicle and a part that I have no idea where it goes. I was hoping that after spending $300 on this item it would come in perfect condition and in working order. ... show more

Overall I'm pretty impressed with this car. It is the alloy brushless version of the AK917 for clarity as some buggy reviews are here too... The car is fast out of the box on 3s (I got 50mph). I added the 40 tooth pinion (I got 63 mph) as the acceleration is a bit much and overpowers the tires easily. I also added the Dumbo RC receiver with gyro and it really helps the overall control when parking lot bashing. Speaking of tires this thing shreds tires fast. The stock tires I get about 4 to 5 packs before they wear through. Going to try the belted tires they sell soon. Got a few sets of them and they are a lot thicker and stiffer rubber so I hope to get a few more runs out of them. The bad: Durability is a little questionable. The plastic used on suspension components is pretty soft (they do offer metal upgrades which I will be trying). In particular the rear hubs have a poor design in my opinion. They have three holes for adjusting camber of which only the outer most hole is useful, unless you are some kind of camber freak... The problem with the three holes are that they are too close and a good side swipe to a curb (that my Arrma cars would just laugh at) rips the screw out of the hole. You can see that the screw gets twisted sideways and tears through to the next hole before getting ripped out. Has happened twice to me so far. Also broke one of the turnbuckle screws in half on the rear upper control arm. Oh and when that wheel breaks lose the dog bone falls out. As I run the car at night on my lunch break I have lost two dog bones so far. That said it's a great and fun car to drive. All metal bearings and bushings eliminates any kind of slop or wheel wobble I have had on other RC cars. It's very stable and goes straight as an arrow with proper use of the throttle. It does slide the rear easily if you use too much throttle so be careful, hitting a curb can ruin your day :( ... show more

I had mixed feelings about buying this car but it is now one of my favorites out of 120+ vehicles in my fleet. Tunability, functionality, and overall speed and agility. This thing flies and brings me back to being a 12 year old in the streets with my 1st RC. Thank you Riaario for the memories this car brought back. Since purchasing I have purchased 4 more and have fallen in love with those also. The buggy line is awesome. Once people see them run they are off to get one themselves. I haven't broken anything yet and it's been end over end after hitting a curb and just a few scratches. ... show more

This car is awesome for the price! While I did get the rtr metal version, I'm already adding some hop ups to it including motor, aluminum upper arms and the 2 piece bearing supported driveshafts and contact foam tires for some high speed runs. It is a very well built car! Not a toy! I'm waiting for a 4s capable esc from Rlaarlo now and will be tearing up some streets with it! ... show more
