Easy to use and the display is big and easy to read. It reads the temperature of the food and liquids I have tested instantly and accurately. It is sturdy and looks like it will last for years. I use it mainly for bread, liquids like water temp for yeast activation and water for certain herbal teas that don't tolerate high water temperatures. I bought this instant read thermometer over 4 years ago, after a series of other digital probe thermometers that either weren't instant, were sensitive to the heat anywhere you'd want to use it, or ruined some getting even the slightest amount of water in them. This one does everything it says, instantly and reliably. It held up with heavy use for over 4 years, and I'd recommend it for anyone who's looking for that convenience and ease of use. About a week ago, it started malfunctioning, giving 'LLLL' on any reading, even food under the broiler. I recalled that this was advertised with a 'LIFETIME GUARANTEE', and decided to reach out to Alpha Grillers directly to inquire on my options. They promptly responded very helpfully, saying with the right info from me they would just replace it. The replacement arrived just a couple days later. I look forward to enjoying the replacement for yet more years to come! ... show more

This was just what I was looking for to replace my old meat thermometer. It's inexpensive and does the job. It even has the temperature guide right on the front of it for easy access so you know if your meat is at the right temp. Food poisoning is no fun! Highly recommend.

Pretty cool item. It is simple to use and has a couple different features that all work properly. I was disappointed to find out that the manufacturer and I have differing opinions on what is "instant". When smoking or roasting a low fire, you don't want to keep the smoker lid open to lose heat so quick temp reads are needed. Sadly this unit takes several seconds to reach temp. I use it, I like it, I would recommend it for the price.....it's just not instant. ... show more

Works great. Love how it turns off when you close it. Saves on battery. My son loves to cook and did not know about checking temps. So this was a great purchase for checking BBQ, and chicken meals getting to right temps. it is very accurate.
