This is the first plastic welding kit I've ever had, so I don't have others to compare it to But from my experience this works great, there are a lot of welding joins that are included for various plastic joint angles as well as Metal plates to do large sections to melt or cut plastic, it's heat output seems to be appropriate and works well and it seems to have a good quality to it and definitely worth the money I have used this many times since purchasing it and was glad to have purchased it Highly recommend ... show more

The gun did a great job repairing a part on my coffee maker, which covered the cost of purchase. It performed exactly as described. After 2 metal staples followed by the smoothing tip, the repair actually looks pretty good and seems quite strong. I did follow the instructions which say to wait 40 seconds for the plastic to cool before removing the metal staple from the gun. Otherwise, I believe that they would have pulled out of the plastic. Time will tell but the welder’s construction quality seems to be very solid. A Fakespot analysis of the reviews for this welder showed that they were almost all legitimate. I have only used this product seldomly. I do plan on using it to fix my car's front bumper but for smaller projects that I have used this for, it works amazing. For example, on my protein shaker cup, the lock latch that closes the mouth piece on the lid snapped when it fell (it was a post workout session and I accidentally opened it too strongly). Heartbroken, I thought I would need to purchase another lid ... until I remember I had this plastic welder. I was able to staple the broke piece back to the latch and now it can reattach to the lid! This was my first project working with the plastic welder and it was easy to use. The build quality is strong. It heats up fast. It is easy to use. Is there anything more I need to say? My only gripe is that the wire cutter that it comes with is a bit lacking and its use is for more larger, plastic pieces. For smaller things, like cutting off the portions of the staple that stick out, I would use another tool. Other than that, this tool works great and if you consider yourself a DIYer, you should give this tool a try! ... show more

I heard about a "plastic stapler" on Youtube and by the end had to order one. I have very old plastic cabinet on wheels that fits perfectly under my table. One drawer broke badly years ago and there are no rolling cabinets available with these dimensions anymore. So I had relied on Gorilla Tape all these years. Never worked well enough. Until this thing. All of the broken bits are now stitched together like Frankenstein's Monster, and I have to say it is very sturdy. I never thought this would be repairable. One piece of the panel that was broken was actually lost, so I was able to trim a plastic lid to approximate the missing piece and - magic - the surface is healed. Pros: This heater has plenty of power. You are ready to go in 10 seconds. The process works by melting the plastic and embedding metal within the plastic. The type pf plastic doesn't matter, as long as it is thick enough for the metal to be embedded. I was able to use this to join different types of plastic together. Cons: The "staples" fit into metal tubes on the heater. The fit is very tight, which makes removal difficult once the plastic is cool. Once you remove the tool, the two pieces of metal that were inserted into your heater are now sticking out of the plastic. These need to be trimmed. Unfortunately this kit does NOT come with flush-cut snippers. They are regular wire cutters that will leave sharp 1/16" bits of metal. You will need to purchase sturdy flush cut snippers. The "staples" that come with the 100W heater are much larger in diameter than the staples for the 50W. This means they are harder to cut and you need to buy specific replacement staples. However, the staple is MUCH sturdier than the 50W staple. The kit comes with 4 types of "staples", each meant for a different purpose. You get 100 of each, yet you are very unlikely to use three of these types. Ever - unless you need to fix a corner. The only one worthwhile is the squiggly staple. So when you run out of 100 of those you need to buy more. The outside corner staple is awful. It will not work with a 90 degree angle repair. The inside corner staple will. For the price, this is the greatest tool you never realize you needed. There are quite a few models of these available, and frankly, they are so simple I cannot imagine one brand being better than another. ... show more

This thing worked fantastic. I repaired a plastic air intake. It was easy to use once I practiced a couple of times. Instructions were not that helpful, but I am amazed with the end result. Could not be happier.
