Instead of installing this in my car, I actually mounted this on my desk so that I have a "wireless charging cradle" that allows me easy access to my phone at a glance right behind my keyboard. For my setup, I eschewed the cigarette lighter power adapter plug in favor of an ordinary USB-C cable from the base to a charging block. I also didn't download & install the product app or any firmware updates like it advised. I am not going to use the Alexa features and do not need the device to communicate with anything. I just wanted a wireless Qi charger that would hold my phone in a basically upright position rather than laying flat nearby, so that I can refer to & operate the phone more easily when I need to. My Kyocera Duraforce Pro 2 recognizes the charger without any problems. Charges faster than I was expecting. I like the fact that the mount will automatically open its grips to accept the phone, and then close them again to hold it securely, but the buttons on the back to disengage/open the clips (in order to remove the phone) don't always work when you press them, even if you hold the button down a while. This means I sometimes have to twist the phone out of the grips, which is fine, but slightly annoying. ----------UPDATE EDIT: This may have been user error. Over time I've found the release buttons to work more reliably than they seemed to at first, but the device is reluctant to re-open immediately after having closed onto a phone. If it has had a moment (or more) to "settle in", then the release buttons seem to work fine, with a sufficient press (it does require an extended press to avoid accidental bump releases)---------- The mounting pads that come with it have to be pressed into the base first, and then supposedly twisted a quarter turn to lock in place. I found I had some difficulty getting the mounting pad fully pushed in to the bottom of the device, and then when it was, I couldn't give it that quarter turn to lock it. I figure that's fine in my situation, where the mount is not gong to be subjected to any real stress. This was just to keep it from falling over if it ever gets bumped. All in all, for under 20 bucks I think this is a good deal, but I am unable to offer an assessment of its microphone & speaker quality or Alexa integration. ... show more

I have a brand new teen driver who needs a charger that a) allows him to be hands free so he can follow driving directions and b) uses a cigarette lighter port for charger. This one is great! It operates as a charger and dash phone holder in one. It works with magnetic wireless charging (my son has an Apple iPhone 14) and the magnet is fairly strong to hold the phone in place (it works with his mag safe phone case). I cannot yet speak to the longevity of the stickiness (whether it holds in place well) since we haven't adhered it to the dash yet, but it comes with two adhesive pads.
