    • Comfortable Grip and Easy to Use

Clip weights are so time consuming to switch out, and the wire clips are always frustrating to work with and hurt my hands. This allows me to change out my weights quickly with a simple pinch and lift method. The mechanism can be manipulated while the weights are out of the cradle, but it takes two hands so its not like it can slip off on its own. Then the weight is pretty evenly distributed around the grip, so they feel like regular dumbbells during exercise. The grips themselves are basic, but feel comfortable in the palm, and the discs on their own are pretty comfortable to wield. The cradle is lightweight but durable, and the whole system is more compact than my prior assortment of various weights. They are easy to wipe down, and look unobtrusive tucked in a corner until I need them. They definitely make my workouts more comfortable and go a bit faster. ... show more

There are lots of adjustable dumbbells on the market with a few different designs for the adjusting mechanism-- I like these the best by far! They do require two adjustments, one on each side, but the mechanism is much more reliable, smooth and durable than the twist style, for example, and it's a very easy adjustment, unlike the ones where you have to slide in each plate separately. The base allows you to easily set down the dumbbell, lift the gray latch/buttons and slide to the desired setting and then resume your exercise. Easy and quick! These feel good in your hand, no pinching, scratching or slipping. The base is plastic and should be treated with a certain degree of care to prevent cracking, but you don't need to treat them with kid gloves or anything. The 12.5 per weight is a good, versatile weight for lots of different at-home exercises. Great addition to (or foundation of) a home gym without taking up tons of space! ... show more

To avoid any confusion as to the product description herein under review, the actual product description as posted by the seller on his Amazon marketing webpage is: Adjustable Dumbbell 12.5/25lb Set of 2 Weight Training Fitness Exercise Body Workout 5 in 1 for Home Gym Beginners Woman. Price-point during this review: $179.99. Although at first glance, this product might be considered a bit 'pricey', I find it ultimately worth every penny as its practical, body-building effects have already imparted many beneficial results in my ongoing quest for health/fitness 'perfection'. Whoever designed and engineered this 'gadget-like' device deserves some sort of medal-of-excellence for his contribution to the ever-so-popular world of physical body fitness exercising. True, I've owned several, weight-adjustable dumbbells in my longtime pursuit of fitness perfection, but they've always proven to be rather 'clunky' in both management and application of the individual weight plates onto the respective individual bars. So, 'wonders' sometimes never cease and along comes Godsend Amazon, coupled with my gold-rated membership in their Vine Voice reviewer program, and 'lo and behold', they plop this novel and unique dumbbell set offering into my desperate, outreaching hands. Needless to say, I 'jumped right in' and scooped it up, and I've never looked back since its arrival and subsequent extended use in my home's dedicated gym area. These two dumbbell devices, along with their equally well-designed holding/storage racks, allow for rapid 'deployment' of whatever total weight quantity I feel might be appropriate at the time of my desire to select them for concurrent use. I never would have thought that such a practical design, of such a quick sliding-type of weight selection mechanism, was 'do-able' (and yet still so practical and functional what with all that 'dead' weight to contend with). It comes with generous 5 adjustable weight options (5,10,15,20 and 25 pounds each) and also comes with the capacity to adjust the width of the individual dumbbell bars (ostensibly to accommodate a more comfortable fit given the varying hand sizes of any user). Its handsome jet-black color offers that final elegant touch that any independent professional gym would be proud to endorse. This product is a 'winner', and I do rate it at the highest 5 stars level that it so richly deserves.
