This purchase was to replace the original bottle that came with my Aarke carbonator, that reached its expiration date. The first replacement only had 6 months left before expiration, so I sent it back. This one has nearly 2 years before expiry. I like the new design slightly taller, fits well. I like the Aarke system quite a bit. It comes with only one bottle, so you really need the extra one. I also like the bottle shape and material. They are date stamped - to make sure you replace them. I rinse by hand with room temp water, using soap & bottle brush occasionally. But mine separated as others have pointed out - at both the cap and the base. The function is unaffected, but with such a nice design on everything else, you would expect them to have used the right adhesive. I chose Gorilla Glue, figuring it might have a little give. I suspect the issue is connected to constant expansion and contraction with cold and heat between the metal and the plastic - both of which do so at different rates. Let the mansplaining stop here. It seems to have worked. Bottle probably should not have to cost $20.00. Good quality bottle itself. Just be prepared to do a quick home repair. ... show more

    • Newer bottles - worse quality

I have had the Aarke carbonator for a few years now and just bought a new bottle because the old ones were getting cloudy. The quality of the bottles was never great and now seems to have deteriorated. The bottles were always plastic, a terrible choice to begin with as the only option, but the newer bottle as compared to the older ones does not even feel premium. It has a clearly visible line on the sides where the two sides were pressed together like the cheapest product, and the insulating ring in the cap fell out after 2 uses. This for $20! I know for their latest high end model, aarke makes glass bottles which do not fit the older models. For a premium product this needs to get fixed.. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We unfortunately lost the original bottle that came with the machine in the recent hurricane. This one has been vastly improved upon with the design changes to the bottom of the water bottle. See the video. It appears to not only be ascetically better, safer comes to mind as well.
