Up graded to these from the old window AC units. I got 2 for my house which is about 1200 square foot home and have 2 of them. It cools the house off pretty well and keeps it cool. They kick off automatically when the desired temp is reached and then kick back on when it gets above that temp. I have noticed a drop in my electric bill by using these compared to the old window units so that's a plus! They are about the same loudness as a window unit. It has 3 settings, cool, fan, and dehumidifier where you would need to drain the water out. They were easy to set up, that my teenager daughter set them up for me and it took her about 5 minutes. I would recommend these for any size home but you might need a few to cool down more than 1200 square foot home. ... show more

My upstairs bedrooms don’t get enough a/c to keep them as cool as everyone wants without the downstairs being freezing. This unit is great to cool a bedroom. It was very easy to install in the window, but the vent is a little tricky. It also doesn’t stay attached very well. We used duct tape to secure it. Overall, I am very happy with this unit. Let me tell you...this portable air conditioner is badass! We just bought our house two years ago and the central air unit decided to break down...old and needs replaced. We have no window units so we opted for this portable a/c unit until we can replace the big unit. This thing is a beast! We hooked it up in the central most room in the house and it's amazing the cold air it puts out. Does it cool the entire house? No. Does it make the living space somewhat comfortable? Yes! With 90 plus degrees this coming week, we're so thankful for this unit. The price was lower than most others we looked at so we took a chance. So glad we did! This thing is hot garbage. Not sure who is writing previous reviews, but this thing can't even keep my 150 sq. ft. Room cool in modest heat. Buy a reputable brand cause I promise this thing will leave you hot and sweaty

3 stars just because there's only 2 modes for fan speed and the normal one is so loud and the wind is comes out pretty fast and strong. It does cool the area but again definitely can't sleep in the same room while it's on.

As for the product itself, the instructions were too difficult (sorry, not a very technical person here, so wasn't simple enough for me), the exhaust hose was damaged on one end and could screw the attachment on properly.
