🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

Based on the product reviews, this air conditioning unit is powerful and effective at cooling spaces both large and small, even those reaching up to 100F. Users praise its great cooling capacity, effective performance in high humidity, and the added bonus of acting as a white noise machine. However, users point out that the unit's exhaust runs hot and suggested keeping the tube as short as possible, with some noting the necessity of a bucket for draining significant amounts of water produced by the unit.

Pros

  • 🌡 Rapid and powerful cooling capacity even at high temperatures
  • 💧 Particularly helpful in areas of high humidity
  • 🏕 Ideal for various places including camping trips
  • 🔇 Acts as a white noise machine

Cons

  • 🔥 Exhaust runs hot
  • 💦 Produces significant amounts of water requiring frequent draining
  • 🔊 Can be quite loud for some users
  • 👀 Some discrepancy in the BTU rating provided

Should I Buy It?

If you need a portable cooling system that can handle high heat and humidity, this product is a strong candidate. Its noise level is a common complaint, but for many, it functions as a white noise machine promoting better sleep. However, prepare for frequent drainage due to the amount of water it produces. In all, it’s a powerful, efficient device worth considering.

  • Great Value, Easy to Use, Appropriate Amount of Ambient Noise
Size: 12,000 BTU
Overall works great and I was super happy with the Prime Day price! Noise- so I’ve worked in hospitality and have seen many PTAC units. This is not silent when it’s on, but for what it is and what it’s doing noise is minimal. A completely silent one would be out of this price range or off. Set up was a breeeze! With the included window kit. Getting the hose hooked up to the window was pretty easy and you just hit the on switch and a few settings and boom your room is cooling. It puts out a lot of cold air- the amount of BTU’s at my price point is where this product gets its value for money. This machine does not make a ton of condensation so emptying is easy and you don’t have to do it super often. Only other minor issue is that you will be well served to get some aluminum tape or something to seal the hot air output hose connections.better. I don’t feel hot air but the small area behind my machine is the warmest spot in my apartment. I do have the hose stretched out so unit is about 1.5 yards away from window. Im very happy with my purchase. I got an insane deal for Prime Day, current price is fair, but high. ... show more

  • Love it!
Size: 8,000 BTU
I bought this unit 1 year ago and it still works just like new! My apartment does have AC, but it's central AC for the entire building so it's pretty weak. On hot summer days, the building's AC can't keep up and it ends up being about 76-79 degrees inside, making for some sleepless nights. So, I bought this AC unit to supplement the buildings weak AC system and couldn't be happier with it! Keeps the bedroom cool and comfortable. For those complaining about it being loud, what did you expect? Obviously an AC unit is going to make noise. But it's no louder than a standard window AC unit, so it's really nothing out of the ordinary. I honestly like the white noise that it generates. So much so that I run it on the fan mode even during winter months, just because I like the noise for sleep. ... show more

  • Definitely keeps the room cold but came damaged
Size: 12,000 BTU + Auto Evapotation System
The media could not be loaded. It does the job and keeps the room very cool. It is very loud even on the low speed setting. The item on the back possibly where the cord wrap would be was broken and damaged no pieces in the box so might have been packaged that way. Looks cool and blends into the room. Speeds low from high are not very different but work. Ease of use is pretty simple. On off speed, cool, dry, fan. Remote is bulky but useful. ... show more

  • Saved us camping!
Size: 8,000 BTU
We had a camping trip last week when it was nearly 100F and high humidity. Wasn't looking forward to being in a tent on a campground that has no body of water. So, I ordered this little fella, it was set to arrive the night before. And it did. ...with a bunch of "RETURNED MERCHANDISE" stickers all over it, and a box that had clearly been opened previously. I was not thrilled seeing that, and was convinced this would be defective. Despite looking like the previous person to open up the device itself was part T-Rex, all the parts were there. I cracked the condensate drain and nothing came out, so that's good. Plugged it into the garage for a test run and after a few minutes of running the fan, the A/C condenser kicked in and we had cold air. Thank the stars. All in all, it did a wonderful job keeping out tent comfortable to sleep in at night. I wasn't too concerned about during the day as I wasn't in the tent, but it did cool that tent down even during the day. More importantly, it kept the humidity down. That's what was so helpful at night where it only got down to 80F. In the tent it was 70F with no humidity. Could not have worked better. And that's what I plan to use it for. The odd camping trip here and there. Someday if we get a pop-up trailer, I'll use it in there too. Seems to be a great machine, it's got a great white noise sound with the fan, and the AC condenser doesn't add any significant noise. I am greatly bothered by any odd noises that aren't strictly white noise, and I had no issues sleeping with this thing less than 10 feet away from me. It's a lovely machine, and I hope it lasts. ... show more

  • Absolute Waste of Money – Misleading and Poor Customer Service
Size: 8,000 BTU
I initially had high hopes for this air conditioner, but from the moment I set it up, I was met with disappointment. Right out of the box, the cooling performance was mediocre at best. My room started at 80 degrees, and after two full hours, it only dropped to 75, despite setting it to 65. That’s an unacceptable cooling rate for a machine that cost over $200. On top of that, the unit emitted an annoying whistling noise from the vents every few minutes, which made it even more frustrating to use. The real nightmare started when I realized the unit wasn’t improving over time. It never worked as advertised, and when I finally gave up on it, I decided to return it. However, due to transportation issues and not having a printer for UPS pickup, I wasn’t able to get it shipped back. With no other option, I threw the useless machine away. Later, I saw a message from the seller offering a refund. Naturally, I was relieved because I had wasted a significant amount of money on this. I responded, confirming I wanted the refund. But then they hit me with a ridiculous requirement: I needed to cut the power cord in order to qualify. This was never mentioned in the original message, nor was it stated anywhere in the product listing. How does that make any sense? If they had made this clear from the beginning, I would have done it. But instead, they conveniently failed to mention this critical detail until after I told them I had already disposed of the unit. At this point, it’s been too long, and there’s obviously no way to retrieve the air conditioner from the dump. The seller refuses to do anything because I can’t cut a cord that no longer exists. So now, I’m out over $200 with absolutely nothing to show for it, all because of vague refund terms and a lack of clear communication. This entire experience has been infuriating. The product was defective, the seller was unhelpful, and the refund policy was misleading. If you’re considering purchasing from this seller, don’t—unless you’re okay with potentially throwing your money straight into the trash like I did. ... show more
