    • Good fan for a reasonable price
I bought this fan for my garage, and I am pleased with it for the reasonable price. Even though this does not have the precision build quality and better looking finish of the Minka or Big A** fans that come with aluminum blades (this one comes with plastic blades), it is still well balanced (doesn't shake), and looks pretty decent once it is installed (and of course this one is 1/3 the price). Although this fan does operate fairly quietly on the level 1 and 2 settings, level 3 or higher would be too loud for use inside your home, but for a garage or outdoor patio it is totally fine. My only other comment is that while this fan does move a lot of air (good), it does draw a lot of electricity, so you may want to consult an electrician to see if separate wiring / breaker would be appropriate for your use case.     • Balancing is tough. If the wireless remote dies, the fan becomes a boat anchor.
All arrived OK. Assembly straight-forward w/ no problems. Worked fine 1st try, except balance out-of-the-box was AWFUL; worst I've ever seen & this is my 8th fan (4th 72-incher). Thought it would fly off the mount. Balance instructions were worthless, as were the 3 are-you-kidding chiclet-size weights (and no clip-on, plastic tuning weights) - all aggravated by having to deal with 8 blades, while working at 20 feet above the floor. Took ~ an hour of tedious/methodical shifting of a pair & a single Sunsan B. Anthony $1 coins taped near the ends of 2 blades to get an acceptable balance. The cheapo wireless remote works, but similar ones have failed in a few years, making things awkward when trying to change speed, on/off, and direction when the fan is 20 feet off the floor. SO, OF COURSE, NO INFO FOR GETTING REPLACEMENT PARTS OR ACCESSORIES. ... show more
