There are plenty of good quality fans out there and this is one of them. The light does maintain its color temperature, which is critical for me since I use the wall switch. One thing of note is that the fan DID need balancing, unlike most of my recent fan purchases. Once balanced, it works correctly. For a 52 inch fan, I find it moves less air than my previous 52 inch fan, most likely because the blades are a little thinner. As for looks, this can't be beat. ... show more

For the price, this fan is about what one can expect in terms of quality these days... which means low-to-mid grade components at best, unfortunately. In the past $110 would have been enough to purchase a fan built with sturdy metal components, real wood fan blades, and a durable motor, but in today's world that gets you thin metal housings, flimsy pressboard fan blades, and A LOT of plastic components. Unless you are paying an exceptionally high premium... this type of fan is what you get. It works, but don't expect it to last more than a few years. With all of that in mind, it is worth mentioning this fan assembled with ease (save a few missing screws I had to work around) and mounted to our existing junction box without issue. The fan was wired up and saddled in place in less than an hour, and everything worked as expected there after. The light is plenty bright, the remote is responsive and effective, and the fan speeds themselves offer a wide range of variability. On the latter point, if you want gentle air movement, this fan will do it. If you want a full blow breeze, this fan will do it. It has a great range on that front! In short, this fan leaves plenty to be desired in terms of quality, but it functions as it should. I'm not confident the components will hold up over the long term, but the fan is doing the job for which it is intended for now! 3/5 stars, overall! ... show more
