These are a flat heavy metal material. I got them for use in our backyard fire pit. They are easy to use and much better than trying to poke at the logs with another stick. The handles are not particularly ergonomic, but they work well enough to get the job done. I do really like the length of these to keep hands away from the heat. ... show more

I was surprised at how thin the poker and grabber are, considering how heavy they are. I don't think this should be a problem considering I have a smaller fire pit and don't use big logs. After using them, they are not as nice as I thought they were at first. The rubber like material on the handles isn't glued on or even tight enough to be secure. They tend to slide downward and it is hard to grip the bare metal, especially if it gets hot. Recommend using heat proof gloves when using in a fire. They are longer than I expected, but I'm glad. I hate getting to close when adding wood or banking the fire. And I can sit in my chair and do those things. These tools are an ok addition to my fire pit stuff. ... show more
