They come very sharp so be careful. My fingers have already gotten in the way several times. No, I didn't learn after the first. Very comfortable in my hands. Read the information that comes with them. It tells you how to keep them from rust. The secret I use, Pam grill spray. It's obviously safe to use on them, it's used for grills.
