This flush mount fan is the perfect size for two small (10 x 12 foot) rooms we have. In both cases, the fan replaces a traditional large fan that somewhat dominated the space. These fans are quiet and provide good light. Because we installed these units in an older house, the wiring was also old, so there were some issues trying to make everything fit and work. I was a little bit worried that the mounting bracket would be askew, but if it is, it's not noticeable. The directions are clearly written by patching together some google translate queries. But even that wouldn't account for the poor spelling, and, worse, the illogical flow. So, if you're new to installing ceiling fans, as I was, you have to have your wits about you and watch a couple of YouTube videos to get a better sense of how things are done. It's not comforting to be working with electricity and these directions, but it's doable and probably worth it for a nice, quiet fan with adjustable light. The fan/light, I would rate 5 stars, but the directions are a 3. Thus, I rate the product 4 stars. If you're handy or a precocious novice, this is a 5 star product. ... show more

I wanted a fan with a light that was stylish, quiet and not large. The room is 15x13 and it's perfect. It provides plenty of air and it's quiet. My son in law installed it. He said the directions were the worst part but he had it up and running in no time. The remote works great. I finally set up the app. It wouldn't pair when I used the remote to turn off power and turn on power. So I had to use the wall switch then it connected to the app immediately! I bought this fixture to replace a ceiling fan/light that was 15-20 years old and falling apart. It used incandescent bulbs and had large wooden fan blades. This new replacement is quite different and will take some getting used to. PROS: 1) This one is much more compact and doesn’t hang down from the ceiling as far. 2) I like being able to change the color of the light to suit the mood or activity. 3) I presume it will use less electricity. CONS: 1) The fan is noisy whereas the old one was silent. Being smaller, this one has to spin much faster which makes noise. Only on the slowest speed is it quiet, and on the next higher speed it is tolerable. Anything faster is annoying. 2) It doesn’t move the air around as well as the previous 36” fan even on the highest setting. 3) The LED light is harsh on the eyes, no matter what color it is set at. I have to avoid looking at it when it is on, unlike the last fixture. 4) In spite of that, even at the brightest it leaves my 15’ x 15’ living room murky. I will have to use my incandescent floor lamp much more often to supplement, which will probably result in little savings on electricity. I could never read a book by the light of this fixture alone. Everything is a bit indistinct by its light. It mostly projects light down. Hardly any goes to the ceiling. I am used to bulbs that project 360° so the white ceiling spreads light everywhere. With this fixture, only the area underneath it is fully lit. The edges of the room where the couch and chairs are are much dimmer. It does not light up enough for vacuuming or doing projects. Get this if you want mood lighting, not full illumination. 5) I already had five remotes to run things in the living room. Now I have a sixth. 6) It cost twice as much as the unit it replaced that worked perfectly for this room until it began to fall apart. NEUTRAL: 1) It has a “Nature Wind” setting which makes the fan change speed frequently. I might have liked it except for the ever changing noise level that goes with it. Will I get used to the roar from the fan over time? On the whole, I wish I had not bought it, but it’s too much trouble to take it down again and return it. I can’t get an incandescent replacement fixture nowadays anyway. I’m guessing it will last half as long as the last one given how insubstantial the materials are that it is made of so I’ll have another chance to get it right in a few years. Luckily I have my great grandmother’s old floor lamp to supplement the inadequate light from this. That was built to last and to light up the room. At least this one is good looking. It’s a good choice for those who value style over function. UPDATE: One week later I gave up on this one and returned it. It is for a room no larger than 10' x 10', and even then the corners and edges would be gloomy. I got an older style fan with large blades that are silent and move the air nicely. The lights reach all parts of my 15' x 15' room. It is more solidly built and yet cost over $35 less. I am happy, and appreciate that Amazon let me return this inadequate one. ... show more
