  • Great value,
So this is my second crawler from this company and I got to tell you it’s a great value. I have over 25 rc vehicles including TRX4’s and custom $1k competition crawlers. The tires leave a little to be desired they are soft but not a very sticky compound. Switch out the tires and wheels for some Proline Hyrax, or J-Concepts tusks. Slap on some dessert lizzard shocks and you will have a decent scale crawler. If you are looking for a solid trail rig than this will deliver. My 2 speed transmission did have a little trouble staying in high gear and would periodically pop into neutral but some minor adjustments to the servo end points solved that issue. I bought this with the intentions to strip it down and turn it into an old school drift toy. The motor provided isn’t labeled but feels like about a 20t or so motor which is good for trail but if ur gonna primarily use on rocks I would throw a higher turn motor like a Holmes 55t All in all a really good value Comes with a de-branded 6 channel dumbo RX/TX which are great. Great first, entry level hobby grade crawler and pretty durable for kids as well. The only thing that I would recommend as a better value is a Redcat gen8 if you can catch one on sale. ... show more

  • Cheap crawlers are getting GOOD
Bought this to give to my buddy so he and his kid can play with one - I have a couple of Element Enduros and a Redcat Gen 7 Pro in the fleet, so I had other "mid range" stuff to compare against. I came away IMPRESSED. Build quality felt very good, uses hex hardware (my baseline for "is this actually hobby grade"), has a two-speed transmission (servo might need a touch of endpoint adjustment but it works!), and there's a freaking winch? Even if I never USED the winch, I'd still want it for flexing on fools. The body is a bit gaudy - I wish the blue one was in stock, that's really my only aesthetic complaint. The color on the suspension links is really good, the whole thing manages to feel special...and I got it for like $150. Only things you need to really make this sucker sing are some better tires (stock are not great) and lighter weight oil in the shocks - feels a bit stiff out of the box. Past that? No complaints, this will keep up with your buddy's trail rig, no problem. As a crawler...I don't know. Not my ideal weight distribution, but the two speed trans is a great selling point. If you're on the fence about it because the company name is kinda dumb, get over it and pull the trigger. It's great! ... show more

  • "Facelift"
This 1/10 Crawler is awesome. Very strong truck for a Hobby Grade, just look what you can do with this truck. With a little creativity you can completely transform your basic all black stock truck into a masterpiece. (Waiting for a whip antenna to arrive). I love the power winch and this truck is so easy to drive, works great 👍 ... show more

  • Good one to start with
I really like this rc, the first one (the blue truck body) I found it in a river after a flood, after some slight repairs it still runs today! The other one is stock and arrived today so only about ran for 1 hour and only for braking in and checking to inshore it operated as it should, so far it’s grate! Over all there fun crawlers, my blue one has a 4500kv motor, skid plates and upgraded esc with gyro support , metal internal gearing, still a 2 speed transmission, the winch also still works, the only thing the blue one doesn’t have is lights, just not installed yet, the options for customizing is a large range to chose compared to some other brands ... show more

  • It packs a lot of stuff for a beginner’s hobby toy
I recently got into RC vehicles and started out with some 1/16 tanks and played with them in the park trying to climb pathways. Decided to go for a crawler to do better climbing. Purchased a REDCAT EVEREST PRO GEN7 first and this on a few days later. By comparison, this GRANDO packs a lot more in the package. Just the multi gear function alone makes this RC a top notch beginners crawler. I just added an ESS DUAL sound last night to improve the experience and will be adding headlights and sliders and going from nimh to lipo. As for durability, I have yet to really go test this out and plan to this weekend. I did take it for a short test run this afternoon and rolled it over 1 time and instantaneously broke the mirror. don’t bother putting these on as the clips holder is thin and cheap and does not fold which would contribute to it easily breaking. The wheels are soft and feel sticky however they are unbranded and are wobbly, i was squeezing the tires and felt lumps inside, probably due to poor placement of foam in tires, but you cannot fix as these tires are glued onto the rim. Ordered a set of pro-lines and some new beadlock rims. The tires are large and does a lot of rub on the body. Car will flip and roll at max speed on turns easily, easier than the Everest Pro which also does the same this. By comparison I feel the RedCat Everest is built more solid but I prefer this Grando because of the options of upgrading as I feel the Grando is more in line with being able to use some aftermarket parts. There is still much I need to learn about this hobby and it’s an expensive one, but with the cost of entertainment these days, this is a bargain as I can bypass paying events and take the kids out for a physical walk (get them off their tablets) will be more healthy in the end for them.). So now that I have tanks and crawlers, will need some drifters, racers and boats and also an F22 Jet when I get the courage to risk destroying one on the first time trying. 😅 This item is worth it for a beginner getting into it and will help them decide if they really want to make this a full time hobby at a low price vs some of these traditional branded rc’s Out the box this has what you need to have instant fun Update: 6/2022 I still really like this crawler but since my review, I’ve lost some parts due to cheap plastics. (Lost my whole front end without realizing and when I got home I realized I lost the front bumper new winch.) My complaint is that the mounts for bumper are cheap flexible plastic which seems very flimsy. I can probably say with confidence that others who have made the same purchase had gone through the same problem as myself because when you go try and buy replacement parts they are al sold out. They even offer a metal replacement part, also sold out. This tells a story of what people are replacing. I ended up buying a universal metal universal front bumper kit with winch and used the frame mounts it came with and it worked perfectly. I think all future replacement parts for this R/C will be aftermarket. Poor support if your customers cannot get the parts they need for a featured r/c they sell. Reduced from 4 to 3 stars ... show more

  • Cool gift in the box and to say you spent $200+ on it.....but they SUCK.
This is the second one I have bought. I thought the first experience was a fluke and we just got a bad one. I returned it, and tried again for Christmas. Same thing. These things are NOT to be played with. They are meant to sit in a box and look at. The $$$ spent on them is wasted. I did get the 2 year warranty on this one since our first attempt was a dud, so we will see how support is on replacing or refunding the item. I will go back to buying $30 ones from Walmart that look less cool but at least work. ... show more
