I have purchased two of these systems. This is a great entry level system for the price point, especially considering that it can be expanded to 8 cameras. The picture quality is good and the the cameras seem to be well built. The software is well laid out and user friendly. The only down point is that of the two systems I purchased one out of the four power/av cables did not work and I had to purchase two separately to get the system fully operational, this isn't too usual because I've had the same issue with other system. I suggest when purchasing not only this system but any camera security system to purchase at least one extra power/av cable, even if you don't have to initially use it, they're good to have around just in case one goes out in the future because it does happen. ... show more

Love my zosi camera system. Works great just as advertised. Easy install. Be sure to get the hard drive as well. Motion detection works great, as well the night vision. The pic is a screen shot using a phone taking a pic of my tv/monitor. This is very late at night using the night vision. Good quality and picture even with little to no light conditions. I would highly recommend this camera system. *note no animals were harmed* just amazed to see a deer rite in my front yard by the car. Two of my original cameras failed because of water getting into the enclosures. I discovered that I had to shield them better from weather than I had originally so I ordered two of these. Right away I noticed that they have screws to hold the enclosures together and a selector for resolution. This can make it difficult if you have to power off the cameras or you lose power because they'll default to the lowest resolution available instead of going back to dv1. This means that you'll have to have access to the camera about 5 ft down the line to a small box so that you can hold the selector for 5 seconds to the right which sets the camera back to dv1. Not a huge issue but it would have been nice if the selector was permanent. I've been overall happy with the Zosi system it's inexpensive and it works. You could pay more but there are ways in which you can spend stupid money and there are ways in which you can spend smart money. ... show more

THESE PRODUCTS WILL RUIN YOU LIFE BECAUSE THEY ARE SO POORLY MADE ...YOU WILL THINK YOU HAVE A SECURITY SYSTEM TO RELY ON BUT YOU DONT....TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.2 cameras didnt work 1 wire was faulty Email alerts do not work on the platform and the the zosi teck support told me this Also you can only get push notifications to one phone one account also confirmed by zosi tech chat .This product is terrible. This DVR is horrible. The playback is atrocious and works MAYBE 20% of the time. Freezes regularly and jumps to points you aren't even trying to see. The dvr itself regularly goes offline and you have to unplug and plug it back in. If you are trying to view remotely, you're SOL. Quality is meh. Not great at all but not horrible I suppose. Sometimes you can't even turn it on without unplugging the cameras, waiting for the DVR to boot up and then plug them back in. I couldnt imagine a worse DVR system. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I bought 2 hoping the new one would be better. It was not. Quality is absolutely trash. ... show more

I got this to replace a low fidelity Lorex unit that was a 4 camera unit at least 15 years old. The 8 cameras are much sharper than than the ones they replaced, but the old cameras could still be used in areas where lower sharpness was acceptable. I currently have 10 cameras attached, and will probably stop there. My only concern is that the unit seems to hang up or reboot every day. I am too busy to troubleshoot it right now, and have not yet contacted tech support, but will once vacations are over. Assuming the unit ultimately runs reliably, I will be happy with it. Certainly, the picture quality is good and the software is OK, when it works. I will amend this review once things are sorted oit. ... show more
