Saving money on a locking gas cap was probably my dumbest decision of the year. After 2 or 3 uses which were very complicated and stressful at the pump, I stopped at a gas station out of town with my tank on empty. Once again I began fiddling with the odd and awkward sequence code of key turns printed on the cap. It would not budge. I had to turn it hard by hand and disintegrated and the inner seal stayed in the car body. I used a tire iron from the jack kit to pry the thing out. I finally got gas as it became dark and drove home with a sock as a gas cap. It is a GAS CAP and should not be wierd. Here are understatements: this gas cap is poorly designed, difficult to use, will fall apart, can be broken with a hard turn, and may endanger your life or just strand you somewhere. Easy to install. Convenient to keep people from stealing my gas. Worth every penny. The only thing I wish (and it’s not a huge deterrent) is that my old cap had a plastic cap holder that kept the cap on while you were filling up. Unfortunately the ring that holds the cap doesn’t work with the new cap. I’m just afraid of sitting the cap down and driving off. We shall see. ... show more

I have a 1986 C4 Corvette sedan which is pretty easy to siphen the gas out of and obviously the neighbors figured that out! This is the cheapest one I found on Amazon and works every bit as good as the ones three times its price! Very solid and works great, I have taken a locksmithing course and tried to pick it and was able to do it but not very easily! ... show more

It fits my Chevy express van just fine. However, I accidentally dropped it from a height of 2 feet (the gas tank hole is about 2 feet high). The key lock was completely broken off, and I can't use it again. It seems too weak.
