The media could not be loaded. So far this is a total winner! I have used it for two days in a row and I’ve gotten amazing stable footage. It is very small, way smaller than the osmo. Fits in my small travel bag with all of my travel video gear. The Smooth Q2 easily fits in my jacket pocket too. Well built and full of features. I use it with the iphone 11 and you need to tilt it a bit to use the extra wide camera but it works great. I love it. ... show more

    • Overrated and disappointed
I was tricked to buy this based on the reviews and youtube tutorials. Unfortunately I didn't play with it until it passed the return date. The battery dried up itself a few days after it was fully charged and not being used. The joystick is easily touched and switched to anther mode accidentally. With the ZY Play app installed or without, I still had to do touch screen in order to shoot. The record button on the stick is only for decoration. To pair the gadget with the app is always a challenge, each time it took more than 10 attempts. I gave up. I thought I was able to take cool photos/videos for my trip but I ended up using my smartphone which was much more convenient. I contacted the manufacturer but was given the run around, instead of answering my questions they asked me double of my questions. One last thing, if you are on trails or climbing, this is absolutely not ideal. ... show more

    • Nearly perfect with a fatal flaw
The build is solid (metal). The pan/tilt/roll are all smooth. Ergonomically, the handle is a little too short, such that it's hard to operate the joy stick with the thumb. But that can be remedied by holding it half way, with some discomfort. It's a nearly perfect pocket gimbal except one fatal flaw: In PF and POV mode, when you pan to the left, you can see the gimbal arm in your shot! This is using an iPhone. If you use other phone, you may see the arm in Pan and Lock mode as well. The solution suggested by the manufacturer is to tilt the handle into horizontal direction, so that the arm is out of the way. It will be awkward to hold the handle horizontally all the time. It's tiring and limit your tilt range. I don't feel this is a solution at all. Returned it reluctantly. Going back to smooth 4. ... show more

    • Small and handy but with a LOT of flaws.
Let's make this easy, this is a Zhiyun gimbal, you expect the best, preiod. First, I have to say that I've callibrated this gimbal so many times, that I can do it with my eyes closed, and with callibration I'm not only saying with the Phone on it, but the initial 3 axis callibration. Let's go directly to the cons... CONS: - Motors are not strong enough, diagonal movments and soft tilt to pan transitions will not work nice and soft in this gimbal, motors will try to compensate the waight and it will give you crazy jagged movements or jumps, ruining your shots every time. I have tested it with a Note 9 and with a Moto z4 - Portrait mode sucks - Part 1. One of the most frustrating facts is that this little one doesn't have a REAL portrait mode, you have to move the Gimbal to get the mode, which is annoying, as sometimes the gimbal understands that you want portrait when you're in Landscape, and sometimes it understand you want the opposite, you're going to furiously scream believe me! - Portrait mode Sucks - Part 2 If you tilt the whole gimbal to the right, you'll get the portrait mode, but in order to make the phone point directly in the line of the Gimbal, without having to film holding the gimbal form the side, you need to reposition the phone in line with the handle, but, when you pan, in every mode, the left side of your phone will always crash with the motor, creating noises in the film, as well as jumps, and de-stabilization, ruining the shot - Portrait mode Sucks - Part 3 All the joystick movement are limited to almost nothing. SO, you can't use the portrait mode the same way the landscape mode. - Software updating and customer service is bad, really bad... The update tool just update recently, but only in Chinese... The Firmware fix features but destroy other features that were originally working fine. - You'll access the modes by pressing the Joystick once, and you go back to the previous mode but clicking twice, but, as the Joystick button is too weak, and the response is too slow, you'll end up changing modes at any moment you were just trying to pan or tilt, and experiencing problems to get to the mode you want, as your clicks will react really late. Annoying feature that could have been cool, but is really badly made. PROS: - If everything I said in the CONS section were working fine, I could have tolerated the crappy portrait mode for a while... but this is just me convincing myself that this maybe could change in a future update... Hopes... - Nice Battery Life (It doesn't charge fast... just saying) All in all, I would have return this failure of Zhiyun product, but I'm tired of returning stuff, I just would like to experience something that really works as it should. so, I'm not returning it, for now... But I should... I really should... My advice: Save money and buy something better, forget the marvelous portability idea, that's a fantasy, you'll end up adding a mic and a light or something anyway, and good bye portability... You'll always need a backpack, it's a false idea that you go to your favorite location, and take your magic small gimbal out of your pants-back-pocket and start shooting, even the simplest films has a little of preparation... If you just want to shot casual moments, you'll not be buying a Gimbal for your Phone... right? This are just my most honest thoughts, hopefully useful for you. ... show more
