  • Great product for the price
Style: Bass Guitar Color: log color-11
Was super fun building this bass with my Son. Went together great and sounds surprisingly good. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is lack of instructions, and the strings are definitely junk (but easy inexpensive to buy quality strings.)

  • Very nice kits and great customer service

I had an issue that with the kit I received and it was immediately resolved. It's nice to deal with a business that stands by their products and cares about customer satisfaction.

  • Great guitar kit for the price
Style: Guitar Color: log color-3
Solid kit for the price but I would not buy again. My next kit will be a nicer instrument, as this kit is pretty low quality. There were no directions, several of the screws broke off in the headstock while attaching the tuning pegs, and the pre-drilled holes look to be a bit off so the strings do not have a straight-line path between the nut and the bridge. Overall, happy with the kit as a learning experience. ... show more

  • Try to determine if the neck is straight.
I assume that the manufacturer would check to see if the neck had a hump in it. As you know when you have a hump you're screwed. After I put all the work into finishing this guitar. Finally had a chance to set it up. I determine the neck as a hump. I missed my return date by a couple of days. If this seller would be so kind? Just to send me a new neck I would be very happy. Otherwise it was fun and everything else fit perfectly. But as everyone knows the neck is extremely important. You can replace electronics easier than straightening the neck. I guess it's just live and learn. Now it's going to be a decorative piece for the wall. After exhausting research I have found the trust rod can also take the hump out of the neck. Only some guitars where the truss rod can be turned the opposite way. Once it has loosened up you can tighten it again the other way to pull the neck straight. It does have a few high frets that need to be file down some. Otherwise I do believe it is salvageable now. ... show more

  • Disappointed
Style: Guitar Color: log color-5
The kit itself seems to be fine, the wood and materials are what I’d expect. However, most kits come with wiring instructions or you can go to their website and download them. This aspect is most important to the build. If I were an expert I would not be buying a beginners kit. Would be of great help to include these critical instructions. ... show more

  • Fun build!
Style: Guitar Color: log color-3
I decided to emulate a Fender Cabello Tono Ligero Mexican Telecaster with vintage P90 pickups. Kit was good on fit and supply of components (although I changed/upgraded many parts). The body was OK in shape/sanding level, but in doing the dye finish the glue and filler showed up in many areas (yellow spots in pictures). I was able to sand/hide the glue fingerprints on the face (low price equals low quality in this case), but the filler on the back was impossible to hide without somehow adding dark turquoise paint over/in the dye before the gloss polyurethane. Anyway, for the price the guitar came out great. Very fun build! ... show more

  • Good kit for the price
Style: Guitar Color: log color-10
This is pretty decent kit for the price - the components are what I expected, i.e. the same kind of quality you'd get with an entry-level guitar. The difference is this kit allowed me to get a pretty wild body shape that I can finish myself, rather than the generic "S" or "LP" shape that 99% of all entry-level guitars come in. I should mention that I've been working on my own guitars for 30+ years and already own a lot of luthier tools so there's nothing in here that I can't figure out, but it might be a bit intimidatingly to a rank beginner to take this on for the first time. The body will need some prep before finish but nothing I wouldn't expect. Overall a fairly good kit for the price point. ... show more

  • No instructions
Style: Bass Guitar Color: log color-11
I would have given it three stars but it came with absolutely zero instructions so I had to figure out how to wire the pickup and output jack
