  • Best Economic Guitar I've played. Period.
Color: Ebony
I've been playing acoustic guitar for over 17 years. I had a cheap Fender Squier electric in my early 20s that never stayed in tune and sounded pretty terrible even in the few occasions it was tuned- so it turned me off to electric guitar for years. I recently decided to once again try to expand my guitar horizons, and being a fan of most of Epiphones acoustics I've played, I decided to take a shot at this Les Paul Player pack to get back into electric. Am I glad I did. I don't ever want to put this thing down. My wife has to beg me to do housework and my kids have to beg me to play with them, because all I've done is play this thing non stop in my free time. It stays in tune, sounds really great, and the humbucker pickups really reduce the humming you typically hear in guitars in this price range. The amplifier is small, but perfect for practicing- also has a headphone jack so you can plug in and not bother anyone. Has a distortion button, so you can rock out as well. The tuner is pretty nifty- Just make sure you set it to "G" (for guitar) when tuning- the different little letters on the bottom of the tuner are for different instruments NOT different keys (i.e. G-guitar, V-Violin, U-Ukulele, etc...) The gig bag is basic, lightly padded. Seems to do the job pretty well. The free lessons are rather useless if you ask me. I signed up to check them out, most of the songs you have to pay extra for. You can find plenty of tutorials on youtube, or tabs on the internet to teach yourself songs. Or simply take lessons in person. I highly recommend this player pack to anyone looking to start learning guitar, or get back into it after a hiatus. ... show more

  • Punctuality & quality
Color: Ebony
I bought this item so that I can teach myself how to play guitar and it is a great starter package. With easy to grasp directions and set up. So yes I am very pleased with everything from the guitar itself to the delivery to the appearance itself thank you.

  • I'm very satisfied
Color: Ebony
I purchased the player pack in black. It's been decades since I've played but it's something I've wanted to do again for some time. I've been retired for a year and a half. I did a lot of research, viewed many many reviews and found the negative ones to be staged and kind of like false positives. One guy gives a Strat high marks but it needs a $100.00 worth of work on the neck and ranks the LP 2 ok. Another guy opens the box and immediately notices a lose tuner on the LP 2. BS! Most reviews are good and those are the one's you need to focus on. My Player Pack was received in perfect condition and plays great. All I had to do was read the enclosed booklet, download some free player info and tune. Looks and plays great. I have not changed the strings and my fingers are toughening up. The strap. tuner, and amp work just fine. Paid $219.00 complete thru Amazon and it took one week. Couldn't be happier ... show more

  • Buy the guitar by itself if you can!
Color: Ebony
Great beginner guitar! If you're a beginner like I am, I'd recommend this guitar if you're looking for something affordable. Great build quality, it's heavier than I thought it would be. The pickups are nice and responsive - you'll want to replace the machine heads and strings if you're looking for longevity. I'm only giving this package 4 stars because the rest of the stuff is mediocre. The picks are decent, the guitar bag is cheap and the amp leaves something to be desired. If you're looking for a decent rock tone, you're going to at least want an amp with some basic effects. The amp included in the package has a decent clean tone, but everything else is pretty crappy. The dirty tone is tinny and thin, and the bass and treble knobs don't help much. If this is your first guitar, I'd suggest buying the guitar by itself and picking up a better amp. You should shop around for something with basic effects - reverb, delay, overdrive, etc. I used this amp for two weeks and quickly got tired of the cheap sounding tone and lack of effects. Great guitar if you buy it by itself and get a decent practice amp. As a beginner you should start with something (anything really) - don't buy into what professional players recommend, just start here and you'll figure out what you want as you learn more about guitars and setups. Also, Rocksmith isn't the greatest teaching tool. It doesn't teach you chord shapes or scales, which are helpful if you're trying to learn the songs in the game. I bought Rocksmith and have barely played it because I've been learning way more from YouTube videos. Just some food for thought, good luck! ... show more

  • highly disappointed. In the First order the amp was busted, the second replacement also a bust.
Color: Ebony
I ordered the bundle first and took it out of the box. I plugged everything in and no sound was coming out of the amp. The amp is really really cheap but the connections dont seem to work from the guitar either. I ordered a replacement from amazon and when the second bundle arrived, it worked for a few days then the amp died again. The guitar is really nice but the amp is cheap, and for it to not have worked out twice in my favor, it made me not a fan. Dont get it as the bundle. Just get the guitar. The amp is cheap. ... show more

I honestly was worried about buying a guitar online for a gift but i was pleasantly surprised. Great quality.

  • Great deal
Color: Ebony
I got my set and was very impressed with the quality. Somebody answered a question stating that it did not come with picks. Well it does come with picks. Also somebody stated that it is matte finish. Mine was glossy. While it looks nicer glossy, you do see more fingerprints. My friend tuned it for me. It was very out of tune out of the box. But he said that is normal for shipping. The amp was pretty good for the price you pay for the bundle. The pseudo road ready box stores the guitar and amp nicely and is packaged inside of another box. So everything was perfect when i un-boxed it. The soft was was nice to protect your investment although not as good as a hard case. I definitely recommend this for a beginner or intermediate player. ... show more
