  • Seems better than an American Professional. Dang.
Color: Butterscotch Blonde Style: Maple Fingerboard Pattern: Guitar Only Set: SS
Bought an American 3 color sunburst Am. Pro 2018 on Saturday, thinking I'll send the Butterscotch Mex Player back when it showed up on Tuesday - NOPE. The Mex. Player is every bit as good (maybe even better) and actually arrived with a better set up out of the box! Action is low and smooth no buzz lightyear (the American needs some work buzz buzz.) The wood, finish and neck are first rate. If this was an American Elite I'd be pleased with the wood, set up, and finish. Nice Job Mexican Fender Factory! This is going to be my gig axe, with the American my couch queen if I can get the set up as good as the Mexican! ... show more

  • Great quality and sound
Color: Butterscotch Blonde Style: Maple Fingerboard Pattern: Guitar Only Set: SS
Box was damaged but guitar was not. Did a setup and now it sounds amazing. Spend the extra $ and have it setup properly. It will sound like a Tele that costs 3 times as much. Impressed with quality of a Mexican Tele and am now looking for Fender Vintera Jaguar (Mexican made). Truly impressed.

  • Guitar on amazon! Beauty out of the box!
Color: Butterscotch Blonde Style: Maple Fingerboard Pattern: Guitar Only Set: SS
Initially i was expecting some dings or scratches or anything minimally wrong on this guitar caused by the shipping handling, if that was the case I would have send it back in the same day, but instead, i got exactly what I was hopping! Clean , no damages, no dings, no scratches, and it sounds as it should. ... show more

  • Converted to Telecaster
Color: Butterscotch Blonde Style: Maple Fingerboard Pattern: Guitar Only Set: SS
I’ve always been a Les Paul guy but lately I’ve been craving for crispy cleans and smooth tones that only a single coil guitar can deliver. But more than that, this guitar is very versatile. She can be a sweet and polite girl, a country one with a thick southern accent or a hot and dirty one with a lot of attitude. You pick the mood and just have fun! I love my new fender telecaster and it’s my main axe now! If you can’t afford an American one, you’re not missing too much by buying the player series, it is in fact a much better value for the money! If you’re on a tight budget I would suggest the Squier affinity telecaster or the classic vibe, they are truly amazing guitars for the money too. I would like to wrap up my review by sharing my experience buying this guitar on Amazon. PROS: + Good sale price and fast shipping + Amazing tones and playability + Great stock pickups + Good value for the money + Very versatile guitar: you can play country, blues, pop, jazz, rock and even use it as a self-defense weapon. CONS: - The guitar is shipped in a very simple box with very little protection, I can see how some people had problems with damage and dents on the guitar, thankfully mine was perfect. - The tone knob of my guitar is a little scratchy and pickup switch knob is loose, it’s not a hard fix but I guess at this price point this is something that can happen. - Amazon doesn’t offer a price adjustment I bought it on sale with 15% discount, then they lowered the price to 25% discount a few days later but customer service refused to adjust the price for me. I could’ve sent the guitar back and buy it again cheaper but I’m already emotionally attached to her and I didn’t wanna risk receiving a damaged one for the reasons I mentioned above. Overall I’m very happy with the guitar but not so happy about Amazon customers service. Hope this was a helpful review. Regardless of what I said you can’t go wrong with a Fender Telecaster! Cheers! ... show more

  • Looks and plays beautiful!
Color: Butterscotch Blonde Style: Maple Fingerboard Pattern: Guitar Only Set: SS
I was hesitant buying this Fender. I’ve heard that Fender guitars made in Mexico are not as good quality as made in USA. I found this to be false. I think all the components on this guitar are the same as the Fender made in USA. I think Fender sent their assembly plant to Mexico and I’m sure that’s why I saved a lot of $$$. Bottom line is I can’t tell the difference between the Fender I bought that was made in Mexico and the one I played that was made in the USA. Great guitar, I can’t stop playing it. ... show more

  • Missing parts, dirty, felt 2nd or third hand.
Bought this guitar a couple weeks ago and received it a few days ago. 2 of the springs and screws from the bridge were missing. As in, not in the guitar, or anywhere in the box. The bridge pickup had a couple scuff marks which I only assume came from someone playing it. The neck pickup has two screws holding it down. Beside both screws, there is damage to the pickguard. It sort of looks like when you screw something in too hard and it damages the area around it. How I know someone had to have used it before me? The scratches and dust. If any of you have a guitar and it sits for a long period of time, dust accumulates on like any other object. Pulling this guitar, that I thought was new, out of the packaging, there was dust under the strings. And the scratches OH THE SCRATCHES! Like someone had played the guitar for months before me. For $700 please do yourself a favor, and buy from a proper guitar shop. 100% the worst condition I have ever received a guitar. ... show more

  • Product was as promised and packaged nicely
This was a brand new guitar, the color and type that I ordered, and was in the unopened manufacturer’s packaging. It was also inside a larger box and surrounded by large bubbles. It arrived safely and quickly.

  • If you're looking at buying this for MSRP, don't do it online.
I pulled the trigger on this guitar because of a 30% off Black Friday sale, and the experience wasn't great. First, the packaging from Amazon was ridiculous. The Amazon branded box it came in was 6x the size of the Fender box within, with nothing to secure the Fender box that contained the guitar. It would've been far better if they had just slapped the shipping label on the Fender box itself. Fortunately, the Fender box kept the guitar safe, although it did have some tiny defects you wouldn't notice if you weren't inspecting it closely. First was a tiny spot of black paint on the body. I tried rubbing it a bit, but it doesn't come off. Second was a small chip by the neck pocket. Neither of these should impact playability, and for the discount I got, I'm not thrilled, but I'm not bothered enough to return the guitar. However, it's disappointing QC from Fender either way. If you're looking at this at MSRP or a more modest discount, just go to a local music shop and look at what you're getting before you buy. ... show more
