  • Great guitar, one annoying issue.
Color: 3-Color Sunburst Style: Jaguar
Great looking and sounding guitar. There was one thing that was irritating out of the box, the pickup rings are mounted to the pick guard. That may not sound like a problem until you realize that the pick guard has that plastic protective film and the pickup rings are mounted on top of that. To remove that film you have to remove the pickup rings, which are a little more annoying to put back on this guitar than say a Les Paul because the spring to adjust pickup height is under the pick guard. Not that big a deal, annoying but not annoying enough to detract a star. I would recommend asking your local guitar repair tech to remove that film when you have them do a full set up on the guitar, which it will need. Mine was shipped with a slight bow in the neck and of course the intonation was garbage, but that is to be expected since, in this case, you are ordering it directly from the manufacturer's warehouse. Who knows how long it sat there and what kind of climate differences it had endured while still in the box. These imperfections didn't make the guitar unplayable, or even that uncomfortable, but you should take the time to have it properly set up so it plays as comfortable as possible and sounds as good as possible. ... show more

My dream guitar. Accidentally came with a right handed whammy bar. Great customer service in getting a replacement whammy bar.

  • GearTree A++ Dealer!
Color: 3-Color Sunburst Style: Jaguar
The fender jaguar, Kurt Cobain signature is a great guitar, sounds wonderful, but I have to say dealing with GearTree was exceptiona! They communicated throughout, there was a minor issue and they expedited replacement so I can’t say enough good things about them.

  • Factory second guitar/broken case
Color: 3-Color Sunburst Style: Jaguar
This is the third time I’ve ordered this guitar. All three times the guitar has come with a broken case and something wrong with the guitar. The frets have been sharp and the build quality is cheap for a $1,500 guitar. Toggle switch is loose, pickups aren’t properly installed, tremolo not properly installed. All three guitars did not come with the certificate of authenticity nor the book on the story of the guitar. All three times I have bought from Amazon as the seller. Other sellers may have a different quality control inspection. Amazon’s quality control is crap. Do not buy this guitar if the seller and shipper is Amazon. I will update after I speak with Fender. Amazon get your act together on quality control. This guitar has a lot of potential after getting everything fixed. It is a versatile guitar. You can coil tap and phase the humbuckers. ... show more

  • Quality doesn't match the price
Color: 3-Color Sunburst Style: Jaguar
I went after the Kurt Cobain Jaguar for a few reasons. I was looking at Jag's because I needed a guitar that was easier to play while sitting down due to a back injury that I'm going through right now. At this moment the used guitar market is insane. I'm writing this in Feb 2021. I like the Kurt Jag, and although I always buy used gear to flip these guitars in particular are selling for the same if not more used than new due to the backorder on getting this new, so I went new. The justification? All the Kurt Cobain guitars have gone through the roof in value once they stop producing them. Jag-stang, First run of the Jaguar worn body version and the Mustangs. The guitar plays well and sounds fine, not real issues and from a design stand point it's suppose to be to Kurt's spec's making this not quiet 100% accurate but nearly there. What I have an issue with is I paid $1,300 after tax for this and the fret board/binding area feels horrible. It's a very sharp edge, it's not rounded off or at least cleaned up well. It's different at different fret's and the bottom side of the fret board is pretty clean and rounded feeling but the top is terrible. I know Fender quality has improved out of Mexico a lot but it's just not there for the price on this. I also am not happy with the fitting of the plastic pickguard and how it lines up with the adjacent metal guards for the tone and volume knobs. that maybe a normal thing but I hate it. The gap's are there and it gives it a cheap look. My final statement. I had a new Squier VI 6 string bass which has a very similar body and look and honestly I felt that was nearly equal in quality to this Fender. Either Squier is putting out great stuff or Fender MIM stuff isn't doing enough to provide us with what we should be getting for the money. The guitar overall is cool, nice to have something that was developed by Kurt's guitar tech, making sure this matches what he used. I think the only difference between these guitars and Kurts actual Jaguar is that there was an opening in the electronic cavity and Fender for these runs placed a black plastic cover over that, oh and this doesn't have the worn look like the original Fender Jaguars had. Can this guitar do anything? Yes. The shorter neck scale is awesome in my opinion. I'm still able to play everything I've always played. The big win is the body shape has a perfect fit for sitting on my leg and allowing me to hold the guitar in a way I need to that I can't quiet get from my other guitars. Since this guitar is the same body as the Jazzmaster which was designed for sitting jazz guitarists it makes sense this would work well for something needing to sit and play. ... show more

  • I want another one!!!!
Color: 3-Color Sunburst Style: Jaguar
There are no complaints! I am not a big Fender fan but MAN this guitar is awesome! Everything I could ever want on a guitar. Paint job is beautiful! Neck is comfortable. Some people complain about the tremolo but I never use it. Not in my style of guitar playing but that's just me. Stays in tune just fine. Pickups are great. The switches for this guitar are awesome. I use the top one as a kill switch so works for me. If there was a Sunbirst Ace Frehley version then I would buy it. Probably the only Fender guitar I will buy. Again that's just me. My opinion, don't hesitate is getting one. You won't be disappointed. Rest In Peace Kurt Cobain. We Love Ya! Thumbs up! ... show more
