I've had the machine for about 11 months now, and am happy with the performance. I believe I probably have over 50,000 strokes on it by now so it has gotten a fair test. I'm not certain of the total stokes on it cuz the overall total rolls over at 10,000. It's done that a number of times now. Was not difficult to set up. I initially noted some clicking noises while rowing and isolated these to the place where the main rail joined to the front frame. A small piece of cardboard (like the back of a note pad) helped to silence that. I also tinkered with the seat stop near the front of the main rail. I found that I would bottom out on this and did not care for the clack when the seat would hit the rubber stop. Inititally I added a small piece of foam cushion (headliner from an apholstery project) to the front of the seat where it hit the bumper. That had mixed results. I eventually removed the rubber "button" bumper altogether and added a foam rubber cushion about 3/4" square to the stationary spot where the seat can hit it at the bottom of the stroke. This had the benefit of allowing the seat to come about 3/4" closer to the wheel which I liked because it allows you to scrunch yourself closer to the wheel at the start of the stroke. Seemed to feel appropriate to me and is quieter this way with very little impact at the bottom of the stroke. The seat is OK but I sometimes fold a bath towel and add that as an additional cushion. The machine is quiet and has stayed that way. It does not have any "entertainment" as the display is just basic parameters of stroke count, time, pace (strokes per minute) and calorie count. I think that the calorie count is a very simple function of strokes as it shows exactly 200 calories at 1400 strokes. I'm not sure it is sensitive to the load setting or your pace. I kind of doubt it but I don't care. I don't watch the display, but have the unit faced towards a TV and generally watch something that engages me to keep going. You can get a pretty good workout in the last hour of the original Die Hard. That keeps you from constantly looking at your stroke count and thinking "Oh crap. I'm only half way to my goal...". Bottom line is this thing does what is says it does and for a rather modest price compared to some of the wind and water versions, and it's quiet enough to accommodate Bruce Willis movies, ...or even Hallmark or Nicholas Sparks if you are so inclined. ... show more

I received my item quickly and it was very well packaged and assembly was easier than I expected. The build quality of very high and the finish on the item is very good. The digital display is clear, easy to read, and well-positioned. The seat is of good quality and moves smoothly along its track. Options for activity settings are intuitive and easy to use. The item folds for storage and has wheels to make it easy to move. I managed to damage the media stand (my fault) so I contacted Customer Services, my experience with Customer Services was a lot better than I could have reasonably hoped for. Annabell was incredible, she answered all of my e-mail questions very quickly and was extremely helpful. My problem was resolved to a degree that delighted me, I was sent a replacement part in an astonishingly quick time and I was not charged, despite the damage being caused by me. Irrespective of the price, this rowing machine is excellent in every way as is the customer service that backs it up. From a value perspective, you will not be disappointed, the only thing less than expected for this rowing machine was its price. What a deal I got, a great product with excellent Customer Service for a bargain price, there is nothing more that I can say about my purchase other than I recommend the product and the Seller in the highest terms, I cannot imagine that any Buyer would be disppointed. ... show more

For the money, this is an excellent rower! It is smooth and quiet, great resistance levels- better than the air rower at the gym. It was pretty easy to assemble by myself- even though the instructions were very sketchy. Just take your time to make sure the pedestal feet are facing the right way before you tighten. It does sit very low to the ground, a challenge for some of us. But overall I am quite impressed with how good this feels- I hope it holds up over time. ... show more

I tentatively purchased Style 01 of the Yosuda Rowing Machine. It was a nice price and there was a generous coupon, so financially it was a very good deal. But I was concerned that the quality might be lacking, and some of the other reviewers said it was too short; they'd had to return it for the larger model. Well, I'm happy to report that the machine is solid and well-made and at my current build (5'10" (178cm) and 300lbs), it's a good fit and feels comfortable to use. My 5' girlfriend tried it too and found it easy to use and fun. Once everything was out of the box, putting the machine together was straightforward. Have a space to lay everything out and you'll be fine. There are a lot of bolts and washers and various pieces, but everything is numbered and labeled and the only required tools are included in the box. The instructions are fairly clear. The illustrations could be a little more detailed (it wasn't always clear how the pieces fit together or where exactly to attach the bolts) but this is a minor quibble. With a little patience and focus, it all makes sense. I'm in my upper 60s, overweight, and have arthritic knees, which is why I was looking for a low-impact workout. With that in mind, this machine sits low to the floor, making it a little difficult to get on and off. I may need to find a sturdy way to raise it up, or put it next to a grab bar. Again, this is user-specific and it may not be an issue for people in better shape than I am. Once on the rower, however, I felt comfortable and secure. The action is smooth and natural -- pretty much exactly what I was hoping for given my previous experience on an expensive rower in a gym many years ago. After a very short initial workout, I could feel the effects in my thighs, arms and abs. In short, I couldn't be much happier with this purchase. ... show more
