Based on a collection of reviews, the 22 Inch Self-Propelled lawnmower stands out for its ease of assembly, powerful engine, and fast cutting capabilities. Users appreciate its ability to handle tall grass and mulch effectively. However, its self-propelled speed is notably fast, presenting challenges around precision tasks and making it less suitable for those needing moderate pacing.

Pros

  • 🔧 Easy to assemble
  • 🏃‍♂️ Powerful and fast cutting
  • ✂️ Effective mulching and handling of tall grass
  • 👍 User-friendly features like easy wheel height adjustment
  • 🚀 Powerful rear wheel drive

Cons

  • 🚗 Overly fast self-propel mode
  • 🌳 Difficulty in maneuvering around tight spaces
  • 🔄 Requires practice to use self-propelled option effectively

Should I Buy It?

If you value quick and powerful cutting capabilities and don't mind a learning curve related to its speed, this lawn mower is a solid choice. It's especially suited for those with larger areas to mow, where its speed and power can save considerable time. However, if your lawn requires a lot of precision work or you prefer a slower pace, you might want to consider other options.

Color: 22" Gas Powered Steel Deck Self Propelle...
I had the luxury of trying this product out before I purchased my own from a friend of mine who owned one. I had no idea there was technology out there for push mowers that don’t require prime/choke/oil change. After spending 2 hours with the mower, I was convinced to buy my own. Assembly was extremely easy. I would agree with some of the reviews I read about the self propelled function moving the mower too fast as this is what I experienced with my friend’s mower. However, the manufacturer may have fixed this issue as my mower doesn’t seem nearly as fast. You can also adjust its speed by not holding the lever all the way down. I have owned the mower for over a month now, and it starts up with no issue every time. My friend’s son made the mistake of leaving their mower out in the elements of a New England winter, and it started up for them in the spring on the first pull. I mow 1 acre and can finish the lawn on 1 tank of gas with no need to refill. I used to mow my lawn with a Jon Deere rider and I can mow with this mower almost as quickly. For the price point, I’ve been very happy that I have made the switch and would recommend this product to anyone looking for a gas push mower. ... show more

  • YOU'VE BEEN WARRRNNNNNNNED !
Color: 22" Gas Powered Steel Deck Self Propelle...
The media could not be loaded. Do youself a favor and belive the negative reviews !!!! This thing is awful. First of all the box arrived all ripped up with clear packing tape sloppily holding it together. It looked as though someone had returned it. The only assembly required is attaching the handle, and the bag for grass clippings. Then you just add the oil and gas. Straight out of the box, sitting on level ground only 3 of the 4 wheels touch the ground. Something must be bent. When I tip the mower forward so that the wheel touches it makes a scraping sounds from underneath when i push it. It started right up, that's the only positive. When you squeeze the self propell lever it takes off ... there's NO WAY TO CONTROL THE SPEED !!!! It goes from 0 to 60 as soon as you apply pressure. The mower pops a wheelie and takes off. You literally have to RUN to keep up with it. When you let go of the lever it is hard as heck to push and maneuver. I mowed through some thick grass, it never stalled out, but it didn't cut great. It laid the grass down and I had to go back over the area multiple times in different directions. It is awkward and painful on your hands to squeeze both of the levers the whole time you are mowing. My palms of my hands felt bruised the next day. I HATE this mower. Maybe if you have a completely flat yard you can run behind it, but if you have roots, trees, flowers beds, curbs, ot an irregular shaped lawn STAY AWAY from this mower. It is so hard to control and sooo fast ... IT'S DANGEROUS AND RIDICULOUS. I wish I had believed the reviews. I thought I could keep up with it. Now I'm stuck with this expensive piece of garbage. I tried to return it, but Amazon just leads you in an infuriating loop on their website that just keeps taking you to a troubleshooting page every time you try to initiate a return. ... show more

  • Great reel for beginners
Color: 15" 20V Battery Powered Reel Mower w/2 b...
I suddenly reached the age where I care about how my lawn looks. It happened without warning or explanation. To my wife’s chagrin, I have recently spent many hundreds of dollars on lawn equipment, chemicals, and supplies. I also discovered the existence of reel mowers. After finding a manual reel at a thrift store, I’ve been on the hunt for a used gas powered reel. Having been unsuccessful thus far, I stumbled upon this Yard Force. Pros: - Price - I paid $150 for the mower with 2 batteries. Replacement batteries themselves are $50 from Home Depot, so the mower itself is basically $50. - Ease of Assembly - the mower came almost completely assembled. Only the handlebars had to be attached and the grass catcher assembled. All in all, assembly took less than 5 minutes. - 2 batteries - Reviews online seem to indicate this mower was previously sold as Sam’s and/or Costco with only one battery. This one comes with 2, and the batteries came essentially fully charged so I was able to mow right away - Maneuverability - I had no trouble maneuvering the unit around my yard. It’s reasonably lightweight and very easy to push, pull, and turn. - Manual mode - if the battery dies, the mower will still cut manually as the reel is connected by a planetary gear to the wheel. Very handy if the battery dies just before you’ve finished mowing. - Noise - The mower is extremely quiet. I was able to hear my AirPods over its noise Cons: - Replacement batteries - I assumed replacement batteries would be plentiful. My research thus far seems to indicate that the only place to purchase batteries is Home Depot for $50 each. It would be nice to have options, and it concerns me that the batteries could be discontinued at any time. - No stripes - The downside of the lower weight of the mower is that it isn’t heavy enough to lay down stripes. It may be possible to modify it for striping, but I have no yet explored that option. - Safety switch - In order to run the mower, one must depress a side safety switch immediately prior to pulling on a bail with the same hand. The positioning of the switch is awkward, and I often have to push the button twice to make sure it registers a press. I would prefer to bypass that switch. - Battery life - unfortunately it seems the only batteries available are 2.0ah, so they don’t last all that long. - Cut Quality - I noticed that The mower would occasionally miss single strands. I suspect that I just need to adjust the reel-to-bed knife, but it’s an issue nevertheless. - Small Grass catcher - I found myself Having to empty, the grass catcher quite frequently as it would fill up quickly. Overall, I am willing to live with the cons. In the coming weeks and months, I will assess the durability of the mower and update my review accordingly. ... show more

  • Does the job
Color: 22" Gas Powered Steel Deck Self Propelle...
Very easy to assemble, adequate power to cut down tall tough grasses and weeds, and as reviewers have mentioned the self propelled mechanism moves the mower a little faster than you'd think. The only thing I don't like as of yet is the weird way the engine starts up. It doesn't take much pull to get the engine going nor is it hard, but the firing up of the engine seems slow and that makes me wonder if it is some kind of new engine tech implementation that is going to go awry faster than you're ready to deal with it. Time will tell. other than that, I'm quite happy with price vs. performance and would buy it again. ... show more

  • Self propelled broke and won't start
Color: 22" Gas Powered Steel Deck Self Propelle...
Transmission went bad because I didn't like releasing the clutch around turns, the parts were cheap so I replaced them myself. Now I release the clutch when going around turns and it works fine, if the Transmission goes bad it won't start unless you cut the belt, then you can use it as a push mower.
