  • 🛠️ Easy to assemble and adjust
  • 🏃 Self-propel feature works efficiently
  • 🔧 Durable with a good quality cut

Cons

  • YARDMAX 22in 201cc 6 speed
Style: Self Propelled Lawn Mower
After reading most reviews (good and bad), I took a chance on it. Glad I did! Here's my break down.. 1 weight: yes it is heavy, but this keeps it from bouncing around while mowing. 2 speeds: I use the slowest speed (1) to get moving and then mostly push. The self propeller is gear driven, and takes a bit to get used to, but works just fine. When turning around release the self propell handle completely. 3 power: Here's what I really liked. Bigger engine than my previous 2 mowers (Briggs), more power-no bogging down, higher rpm-mulches and bags perfectly. 4 materials: all steel, no plastic deck parts. 5 adjustable height: One lever with more height increments than previous mowers. I've had no issues with the bag, really like choke free starting, and was surprised by the fuel efficiency given the larger engine. It comes with oil, funnel, and a spare air filter. Very happy with this mower, other than the made in China part, wish American manufacturers could match this. ... show more

  • Major Design Faults - Very Difficult to Use it - Not Recommended
Style: Self Propelled Lawn Mower
Major Design Faults: (1) Speed - too much (2) Collection Bag design - small opening, wrong hooks (3) Grass throwing window from blade to bag - not sufficient (4) Powered Wheels - doesn't move without power lever (5) Gas guzzler - takes lot of gas (6) height adjuster - never sticks to the setting, etc. I'll try to make it short: (1) When you begin to move by pressing the lever, the machine jumps and runs very fast. Is it a Ferrari? I hit fencing, trees, broke my the vinyl siding...It has six speed levels - LOL. Am I driving a super Car? I used the min speed, didn't dare to try other speeds. That brings to (5) gas guzzler. It is powerful (in speed?) so takes lot of gas. (2) The collecting back has small mount and wrong hooks. Grass will struck at the mouth when you try to throw into the collecting garbage bag. Doesn't move on it own, use hands to clear the mouth or pull the grass into the garbage bag. The two side hooks are U shaped out wards, these hooks holds the running cables, garbage bag, and not easy to take it out and put it back into place. Not at all convenient, you get frustrated with these actions. (3) Usually the opening from blade to bag is 2/3 of back plate. This one has1/4 of the opening to throw the grass into collecting bag. This short opening will quickly block with grass within a short distance and the blade throws all around within no time. Bag is empty, grass is all around the machine. What an horrible design. Every few minutes you have to takeout the bag, clear the opening. That's why, (2) creates lot of frustration. (4) when wheel is not powered, the m/c doesn't move. You can't do manual lawn moving, super hard. For narrow places, you can't power the wheel (bcoz Ferrari speed) and you can't do it manually. What to do? (6) the blade height adjuster never stick to the highest level. It's a wrong design, easily slips to the lowest level. I don't think their design team tested it properly? they have 4-5 levels of height adjustment, consider it as only one level, that is lowest height. Bottom line - for a few dollar savings, I choose this but is lot of pain to use. PLEASE AVOID IT FOR YOUR GOOD HEALTH. ... show more

  • shipped new & packaged well
Style: Self Propelled Lawn Mower
First offf it was shipped in four days, that was fast! No assembly required was very impressive and when added the oil and gas it started on third pull. I then cut our grass and it is very aggressive, then i cut weeds that were 4' high and the engine never bogged down! This is a very strong machine also like the wheel adjustment feature. VERY impressed with mine and would buy it again if needed. -joe ... show more

  • Works good, but really heavy
Style: Self Propelled Lawn Mower
This mower is powerful and will chop down my yard's thickest grass without loading the engine down. The speeds start fast, but once the belt stretches and wears in the speeds slow down. We find 3 or 4 is a good speed. It pops wheelies too. Build quality doesn't appear any different than anything else at the store. I'm confident it won't last as long as a 1980's Montgomery Wards push mower, but it seems like it will last a few years. The downside is it is heavy and bulky. This is not a nimble and light mower. It goes in straight lines and will pull like a mule all day. Turning takes some planning and effort to spin it around. So far so good, but some of my kids cannot handle this thing. So, unlike the mower this one replaced, two pre-teens are out of the yard mowing line-up. It's up to dad to do it all now. The weight and vibration of this mower make it difficult for kids. ... show more

  • Powerful easy to use
Style: Self Propelled Lawn Mower
Very happy with the mower for the price. It’s definitely powerful. Cuts through thick grass easily. Has multiple speeds. That can be nice depending on what I’m cutting. Everything seems built well except the following. The handle is a little flimsy. Luckily, you don’t have to push it, only turn. The worst part is the height adjustment handle for the wheels. It doesn’t stay in the notches, causing the mower to drop down to the lowest setting. I resolved that by attaching a bungee cord from the handle to the opposite side of the mower, holding it tight in the notch. problem solved. All the other benefits of the mower completely overwhelmed the tiny issue with the height adjustment. But it’s worth mentioning. ... show more

  • Heavy but good mower
Style: Self Propelled Lawn Mower
Overall I like the mower. But, it is hard to turn. Easy to assemble and start (no priming). Today, I mowed for the first time with it raised to the highest position to not cut down the flowers for the bees to pollinate. It is heavy with a lot of power. Very clean cutting. I used the lowest self-propelling speed and it was still a bit fast given the complexity of my yard which has long patches, short patches and unique flower beds. Lots to maneuver around. I would buy this brand again. I am a 59 year old female that was using this product. ... show more
