  • Wonderful Tool
Style: 42" Zero-Turn w/(4) 10.0Ah Batteries
This is coming from someone who has never enjoyed lawn care, but this ego zero turn 42 inch lawn mower, I'm having a tremendous amount of fun with! It does a great job cutting the lawn, I'm enjoying using it twice a week and it's incredibly fast and easy to do my yard. The machine charges all the batteries rapidly, and it can go to from a zero to full charge in under 2 hours. So far everything on the machine has been very easy to use, I'm getting compliments from people in my neighborhood on how the grass looks and more importantly I'm enjoying it. The only negative I have on this machine is the overall price of it as it is an expensive upfront cost, but not having to do any maintenance as of right now is a great payoff. Also the batteries will be able to be used with other ego pieces of equipment and I plan on purchasing the snow blower later this year where the batteries from the lawn mower will work in the snow blower. Again very happy with the overall performance and ease of use. Anyone who has the funds to make this type of investment, I think we'll be happy. ... show more

  • Great alternative to gas riding mowers
Style: 52" Zero-Turn w/(6) 12.0Ah Batteries
This mower is very powerful and well made. It is very comfortable and has a really cool feature that you can hook a hose up to this adapter at the top of mowing blade deck and power wash it after each use. It took me about an hour to unpack the mower from the metal cage it came. You have to take the metal crate apart which is over 20 screws and bolts and some are not easy to get to, which took awhile. Putting the actual mower together only took about 15 minutes. You just have to put the seat and handles on which is only about 6 bolts total. Charging the batteries took about 4 hours, the batteries had about 25% when they arrived. I downloaded the Ego app and paired it with the mower as the instructions stated their may be firmware updates available. There was a firmware update available on mine and the update took about five minutes to complete. You can actually use the app as the key, or it comes with two keys you need to start the mower. You can control your speed if you are new to zero turn mowers and it has three modes that determine top speed with Sport being the fastest at 8mph max. You can also control the blade speed and height. For those of you having issues pairing the mower with bluetooth in the app, you can't have the mower completely started. This means only push the power button quickly, do NOT hold for three seconds to fully start. My only complaint is you are left with this bulky metal crate at the end. Thankfully we get two items of bulk trash pickup for free each week in addition to our trash cans. For those that don't get free bulk pickup, you will be stuck trying to figure out how to dispose of this metal crate. Overall very happy with the purchase as it is definitely a high quality mower. You can tell Ego put a lot of time in the design and some the of the features such as the ability to charge your phone. ... show more

  • Blade motor can shut down
Style: 42" e-STEER Zero-Turn w/(4) 12.0Ah Batte...
I have one acre, 3/4 of it is mowed. It's a bit rough, not a flat surface. The grass is a bit thick and wet in the spring. My 22hp Husqvarna cuts through all this well. I just switched to electric because my tractor has other issues and after watching all the you tube videos, I decided to go electric, and specifically this model. I received it on good order, took about an hour to unpack and a couple hours to charge. I mowed my front lawn using the mulching plug. It looked great. The battery dropped by about 10%. The back yard is the big area. I set the height about 3 notches from the top. It mowed very well. When done I was down to 49%. My 2nd mow a week later, I lowered the deck further down, still with the plug. The blades shut off on my 3 times. I had to turn off the mower and restart to reset the tripping mechanism. I ended up raising the deck up a couple notches and it was fine. While I got a good mow, I didn't like the fact the blade motors shut off. Bog down? Perhaps, but not shut off. They are brushless motors so you won't get burn marks on the armature. I think too much grass clippings are bulked up with no chance of escape so it bogs down the motor enough to shut it off. I never saw this happen not was it discussed in any video. When I was done mowing, my battery was down to 29%. Cleaning underneath used a garden hose adapter. I've never cared for this method and prefer to remove the deck. While this one is easier than my Husqvarna, it's harder than it needs to be. John Deere got it right. So I'm kinda on the fence with being satisfied. It's quiet and steers great. No gas.. if it didn't shut off on me I may have given it a 5 star rating. ... show more
