Good rack. Mounts super easy and doesn't take much time at all. The mounts do NOT lock to the crossbars, which is was hoping it did. However there are Allen type screws with specific heads that are less common (less likely the potential theif will have the tool on hand) that secure the handle that releases the mounts. Also they cannot be used without modification if you plan on attaching with T channel crossbar bolts. The way the arms raise to allow the skis/boards in hits the crossbar if secured with T channel bolts. Overall a good sturdy product though. ... show more

Instructions were a little unclear but installation was still easy. These things really get the job done. The wind noise is notable and I've noticed a very slight hit in gas mileage but both were expected. Works great so far! The attach pretty easily to the factory roof rack on the Toyota CHR. We only hear the whistling when we stack our boards and them facing up towards the sky. So really the whistling is less because of the mount itself and more because of the boards. Not sure what else to say about them. They're great, they do exactly as they should. Easy install and secure. I use this to hold (2) snowboards but could easily fit (4) flipped back to back. Comes with locks which secure your equipment and there is a special Allen wrench, which keeps the mounts locked to your vehicles cross bars once you tighten them down during intial install.

Easy install and excellent quality! There are helpful videos on their website and Yakima is a legit company (did not want to go cheapo on this). For me the spacing between the racks took some trial and error as opposed to their recommendations.
