The cameras are very versatile especially given that they are weather proof. The 4 pack is good but once I had the 4 I just wanted all 8 so now I’m ordering another 8 pack and gifting the extra 4 and dvr to my in-laws. Phenomenal packaging as well! Oh and the 60’ cords are for sure way longer than 60’ and like I said well packaged and satisfying to unravel and set up. 10/10 would recommend. Go straight for the 8 pack set !! ... show more

I like that u can also adjust the screen brightness and contrast to view things easier on night vision. The app is super easy and great to use too. I love the zoom in feature.     • Biggest bang for your Buck

After researching numerous systems - I settled on the XVIM as it check marked all the items I wanted and the reviews and videos posted here were very helpful. The system came with 4 small cameras that must be mounted to the house (I did use a handyman to install these. Placement is super important and before you make it permanent- I strongly recommend temporarily hanging and then turning system on. I didn’t do it this way and had to spend a little extra having my handyman come back and move one camera (and fill in house holes that were drilled). The cameras are WIRED and came with super long cords. My house is 3600 sq ft and I place them on each house corner. I ran the cords to a small closest about the middle point. I did pull up my carpet and ran the cords underneath rather than against the wall (once installed in painted the wall corners with matching wall paint to blend the black cords). Cord placement is very important. Connecting the cameras is a bit easier. You will need to ensure you have a monitor and the correct cord cables. The DVR uses either HDMI or Vega. For some reason my monitor only wanted Vega. The instructions state the starting page would just appear. It did not. I could not get a picture with HDMI so I switch it to Vega and it worked. One thing to note, the original DVR would not turn on- no light on front and it wasn’t the connector cord because I had already switched cords. I contacted customer service through the email and provided my order number. The response was very quick and they quickly replaced at no charge to me. Very easy and smooth. The instructions may look confusing but if you follow each step exactly - it’s fairly easy. When I plugged the second DVR into the Vega cord - the setup immediately appeared. It provided step by step instructions. Another thing to note, you will need to keep your monitor station close to your internet because the DVR is not Bluetooth or wireless. It requires an Ethernet cord directly to the Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, I did not consider this in my already dormant layout and therefore at the present time - I am not able to use the APP function. I do plan to buy another long cord and connect. But I missed understood that when I read through the instructions initially. However, the quality of the cameras are good. I do agree with some of the other posts that some times it can get grainy. But I honestly mine is very good. I love watching the wild animals sneak around at night. This system has the 1tb built in - that was a huge decision point for me. Overall, biggest bang for my buck. ... show more

Really impressed with the price I paid for it, Shipping was not what was promised but I think that was on UPS not amazon or this seller, I thought I saw something about metal housing for the cameras but I could be mistaken but just a FYI these are plastic, Also no weather proof connections for the cameras outside, Havent had an issue yet with that but we will see, Make sure you have a backup monitor if you plan on hooking this up to a tv, my 55 inch tv would not support the resolution out the box but was able to fix it on another tv, tech support via email was kinda slow and broken english but I had already figured it out.. Good for the money Edit: Dropped a star, Less than 3 months now I am starting to have the system reboot on its own, The video files are sometimes corrupted. I did add 2 of the Zoshi (I think thats how you spell it) Cameras and the difference is Apples to oranges, metal frame cameras and the level of detail is off the charts compared to the ones that came with the system, 1 of which the Infrared lights are already out on, Have till the end of the month to return it thanks to the christmas return policy, trying to decide if that is what I want to do and get a system from the Zoshi (or however you spell it) Will add some screenshot recordings later Update 2: Have lost 2 of the cameras that came with the system, (replaced with other ones off amazon) Now DVR starts power cycling throughout the day, This was a 8 channel system and the only way to keep it from cycling is to drop 2 of the channels, so can run only 6, there is no fan on the internal workings of it and it does get warm wondering if that is what could be the problem. Also, the UI is a pain in the rear, you can only access it either through the box itself, or have to use internet explorer and use settings that cause microsoft to basically yell you are an idiot just to get into the workings of a box and im pretty sure im seeing someone trying to come behind my firewall to see my system. not the biggest expert on that kind of thing but something isnt right in that dept. You get what you pay for so be careful. much like the broken English you get in anything related to this company, its also the standard for the stuff they sell, will be replacing the whole unit before long ... show more
