  • Impressive, Powerful and Easy to Use xTool M1 Ultra 20W
Color: White Size: 20W Premium kit
The media could not be loaded. Incorporating this machine into my life has revolutionized my crafting abilities.. From personalized Christmas ornaments to stocking labels, engraved journal covers, and stickers, You can create so many items! I got the xtool M1 Ultra 20W. The easy to use software is called xTool Creative Space. It is a free software but full of advantages. In comparison to other free platforms from other companies, I must say that XCS offers a lot more and is free! The xTool M1 can engrave tumblers using the rotary attachment. Can draw images using the markers. It can also cut vinyl using a blade. And the very impressive part (and sold separately) is the printer I highly recommend the Premium kit to have the rise base. It will help using the rotary attachment and engraving wider items. Great crafter's diode laser engraver! ... show more

  • Great 4-in-1 Machine for Small Business Crafting, but Inkjet Sold Separately
Color: White Size: 10W Premium kit
I purchased the xTool M1 Ultra 10-watt Premium. I’m not new to laser engraving or working with vinyl, but this is my first 4-in-1 multi-function machine. The packaging was impressive! Everything was well-protected and unboxing it was easy. Make sure you have a helper because it is heavy! Assembly took a little time but that is mostly because I wanted to be careful not to damage anything and to get familiar with all the parts. Using the blade for cutting vinyl works smoothly, and I am happy with how well it works. The double-sided cutting mat is a bit different from what I am used to on my Cricut, but it makes sense because it needs to stick to the bottom plate of the machine to stay still. The pen feature is very easy to use. My first project was a birthday card for my daughter . I used a template found in the software's project files. The pens are easy to change, and the results were amazing. One downside of the pens is that I wish I could use the pen on other flat materials such as wood. Maybe it’s possible, but I haven’t figured it out yet. I've used the laser most of all since I have had the machine. I've Christmas ornaments, black acrylic earrings, a 2-layer jack-o-lantern and more. The laser does a great job with both engraving and cutting. The exhaust system is surprisingly effective. I vent the fumes through a window and only notice the wood burn smell after opening the lid when a job is complete. The print head. One downside I found is that the print head is sold separately. The machine is advertised as 4-in-1, but even with the premium package, you are really buying a 3-in-1 that is capable of a 4th feature but only if you buy it. As for the software, xTool’s XCS is a bit intimidating but there are many YouTube tutorials out there and I have been able to pick it up pretty quickly. If you are familiar with design space, it is an easy transition. The software provides everything you need to run the machine and best of all it is FREE! Overall, I’m really happy with the machine so far. I haven’t tried the rotary tool yet (it seems a little intimidating), but I’ll update my review once I do. ... show more

  • Don't waste your money
Color: White Size: 20W Basic Kit
The media could not be loaded. I bought this product from Xtool. I had to order the base separately. The box it came in was damaged. Not the box that was shipped in that was fine. As you can see from the pictures they put it in a bigger box with other items. So they purposely sent me out a damaged item box. I called to tell them it's the wrong base for the tool. I was going to pay the difference, but I was not happy because I already had to wait a week. Because no one noticed that it was the wrong base. Their customer service literally can't do anything for you. They expect you to wait for an email. I can't even ship it back. So now I have to wait for correspondence between me and them so I can get the right base and send this one back. In total I spent almost $4,000 with them. I would definitely look somewhere else. They are based out of China. They have no customer service inside the United States. Apparently just a call center. ... show more

  • You probably couldn't ask for a better built multi-tool.
Color: White Size: 10W Premium kit
As other reviewers have said, if you are planning on buying this machine in any of the kits, please devour YouTube videos, and read blogs, and additional reviews. The M1 unit that I received was the 10W Ultra Premium. This kit came with: the riser base, a honeycomb, the adjustable "prism" base, and the RA2 roller unit. It came with the Multi-purpose module, the 10W laser module, 4 blades (including the embosser, and rotary cutter), 8 pens and the pen adapter. The initial set up was easy. There is a hardware key that needs to be installed (it goes into the USB port on the back). You do need to connect with a cable to start the setup, but once that is done, you can use WiFi to make your projects. I was not disappointed with the 10W laser, as I knew what I was getting. I already own a 10W laser engraver, and was aware of the limitations. If you are just getting into the laser world, 10W is definitely the place to start. I have already created several projects that I found in the xTool Creative Source library. The XCS software is the only software that currently is compatible with the M1 Ultra, but you have the ability to import SVG files from other sources. You do need to connect to the machine from a device that is running the app... you can use a PC, laptop, iPad, iPhone. Something that is really impressive to me is the smoke/fume extraction. With my other laser, I have the smoke tent with a smoke extraction fan that vents to the outside. I never get 100% extraction. I can always smell the material that is being cut or engraved. This is not the case with the xTool. Within 10 seconds of the cut finishing, all of the smoke and fumes are extracted, I cannot smell them even sitting right next to the machine. This is super cool! One thing that I was not prepared for was the size of the tool. It is a BEAST. It is nearly 24" x 19", and with the riser base is 12" tall. And it is really heavy. But the build quality is awesome. I have not found anything that is not engineered to perfection. The machine cannot be operated with the lid open, this avoids any chance of an accidental eye injury. The lid is an amber color which is another safety feature. There are also only 2 buttons on the machine. One is used for "marking" the borders of your work area. The other is basically "stop" and "Go". Commands are all executed from the software, and then pressing the button to make it happen. So far, I have used the laser to engrave some wood, cut out a multi layer wood plaque, a 3-D cardboard sculpture, a laser cut birthday card, with pen drawn text, and vinyl cut decal for a Christmas ornament. The most trouble that I had was in making the mental switch to XCS from Cricut Design Space or Lightburn. I have not used the rotary tool yet, as I want to do some additional research, but there is a chuck and suction cup supplied to enable engraving on orbs or stem less wine glasses. What would I do differently? I would probably take the plunge and go for a 20W laser, with air assist. At some point, I will probably upgrade my laser, and add the inkjet print module, but for the time being, I will stay with what I have. ... show more
