I have waist length hair and went gray with white streaks half of head of hair ago (years?). I hate the line of demarcation between my dark brown hair and my gray hair. Pony tails look fake, even though it's my real hair! I spent $450 to get my hair bleached and toned gray. Something like baby lights? Anyway, I loved it. My hair was varying shades of gray intermixed with white and dark brown. All blended in and lovely. If I'm going to hace gray hair, it's going to be on my terms! Once the toner wore off, the dark brown half was now a lighter brown with streaks of blond. That left me 4 colors of hair and still the demarcation. I tried toners, but they wore off in a couple of shampoos. I didn't want to spend $450 every 6 weeks nor keep applying toner that washed out so quickly. I saw this slate gray and decided to give it a shot. I waited to do this review until I'd used it a few times, to be sure. I've used this product 4 times and can safely say I love this product. Seriously. My hair looks like I just spent the $450 on my hair. My hair is glossy and soft (if you have gray hair, you know this is insanely amazing on its own), the gray colors all blend beautifully, and no more frizz. It's way faster than completely dying my hair because it's thick (I scoop it out with gloved hands) and goes on clean, dry hair. I have no splashes on my walls and the few splashes I get on my sink wipe up easily with no stain. The color lasts 9-10 washes for me (I only wash my hair every 3 days, so that's a looooong time) and the color fades gradually - no weird colors while it's washing out, either. The *only* ways they could improve this product are to provide gloves and magically have it never wash out. I bought a box of gloves, so...I'll just keep using this. ... show more

I can't speak to longevity yet, as I'm about 3 hours in to this. Prior to using Xmondo Rhodolite, I have Pravana which has faded. My stylist highlights this portion of my hair. I can imagine the pop of color on solid bleached hair would be incredible. The previous color I had would have been Pravana Wild Orchid, then Blue Topaz and Aquamarine, then Pravana Luscious Lavendar. I let them fade from the pinks, then I add blues, then purples, then back to pinks and around again, over the course of one year. As the last color fades, I use it to add dimension. I was not remembering this to be a MASK. But I was at a point where Pravana wasn't sticking (sometimes I have to dye it twice and I hadn't), which is why I moved on with lavender. It just wasn't sticking, so I moved ahead to this and WOW. This is similar to the Wild Orchid I will end up using in the next few months. I didn't follow the directions. I didn't start with clean hair. And I didn't comb it through. And I left it on for 30 minutes, rather than 20. Since I only wash once per week, sometimes twice, this could get me through a while. It's been over a week and the color look like it did the 1st day. We bleached virgin curly hair the night before; then we washed it and conditioned it and then used a curl conditioning treatment overnight. That morning we washed it and dried to apply on clean hair. We managed to do a single bleaching because her hair only needed to lift a few shades. Her curl pattern remained, thankfully, but we made sure to use specific curl-targeted treatment (Mop Top). You can see she has long, curly, layered hair past her shoulders; I had just trimmed like an inch or two and the single tub of xmondo color was **barely** enough for her entire head. On a fresh new color I would've loved another small handful to smooth into the top of her head. Considering we needed THREE ENTIRE KITS of bleach for her hair, having just enough inin a single tub of color was impressive. #ThanksBradMondo I bought a 2nd tub so she has a freshly done color for Easter, but I think it'll be enough since she has one done as the base color already. The texture of the color in the tub is great... it's like pudding or custard. You can scoop it with your hands or a spoon and the hair just grasps onto it as you blend it in. It smells heavenly but it's not overwhelming or perfumed. It's a really nice neutral scent. So we had time to do color in the a.m. before her program. As I said, we washed & dried to apply on CLEAN hair, so while it processed she got ready with breakfast, making lunch, finding clothes, and then rinsed and I put the curl treatment in again and used a diffuser. Her hair is so soft and the only fading after a week looks like a few highlights of purple but it's still dark & pretty. She gets compliments constantly. I didn't want her to go completely blue but I'm happy with it. She's thrilled. That's what matters most. EDITED TO ADD: OMG I wish she'd let me take pics when we did the 2nd tub after that 1st month. It looked even better than in the pics I posted. The top is having to a pretty lilac, but she wants to touch up. Unfortunately the blue-purple shift is out. ... show more

Easily 5/5 product from the in person store. I’m not sure if the heat or humidity where I live had an effect but the first one I bought wasn’t very pigmented and really patchy for some reason. Wanted to try again because I love the color. Picked it up in stores at sally beauty and WOW. So pigmented. So beautiful! Love it. A 5/5 product off the shelves.
