Earlier in the year, I bought a rack from a different provider and it was a terrible experience. I was nervous about buying another one online but this provider was great. The instructions were very clear and all the items were clearly marked. You have to be careful to get everything pointed in the right direction for everything to fit properly. This seller has much better instructions than the prior seller I tried to purchase from. The install took 20 minutes but it was easy. It feels sturdy and I particularly like the locking mechanism on the covers. That's the main reason I selected this particular product. The other sellers have covers that clip on and that's part of the problem I had with the previous purchase from a different seller. The covers on this product are much easier to install and secure with the key. Overall I'm glad I took another chance on buying roof racks online. I would definitely buy from this seller again. I am very pleased with this product! The bars are heavy duty and easy to install. One of the brackets did crack when I installed it, I possibly did not hear the click on my torque wrench while tightening it. I texted the company to see if I could buy a new bracket. They responded very quickly and replaced the bracket and associated parts at no cost - no hassle! I installed, so I do not have a track record carrying items on my roof. I went heavy duty as I thought the standard 160 lbs may not be enough in some cases and the additional cost was small for the added sturdiness. I am glad I did. However, these stand above the roof by about 6 inches. I do not like this appearance as much as the roof with no rack. Generally, installation was very intuitive and easy. All parts were included and the rack went on quickly. Maybe a total of 30 minutes. At the end of installation, I needed to install a plastic boot at each end. There is a locking twist bolt that secured the plastic boot. It was necessary for me to use a c-clamp to pull the plastic bracket tight enough to turn the locking bolt. It is possible, another may have a different solution. I am looking forward to attaching a ski rack and many other potential uses. 2/28/23 I have had the rack for several months now. I took a trip to Denver w a ski rack attached to the roof rack. 800 miles each way w four sets of skis. I have also used the rack several times around home to haul skis to local resorts. I am very please w the sturdiness and structure of the rack. I would tend to give the rack a 4.5 at this time. Some concerns: I think it will be difficult to take off. Ascetically it is not as nice as 'no rack' but I need the rack, it is very functional, very sturdy, aerodynamic, and reasonably attractive. I would buy again for sure. ... show more

I was so worried that I couldn’t find racks that would 2015 Toyota Highlander I didn’t want to go to the dealership. These were easy to install very well made, and I got them to hold my kayaks.

    • Two installation tips

The directions aren’t super clear but the installation is pretty self-explanatory and easy. Learn from my mistakes with these two tips: First, leave the screws under the crossbars loose while you install the side bolts. I had to spread mine as wide as they go to fit. Wait until both sides are tight before you tighten. Second, keep the key in while you install the side covers. Move to the unlock position, push down hard, and move to lock position. I was worried about breaking the locks until I figured this out. Otherwise, installation is easy and they hold my gear. ... show more

These were very easy to install on my Highlander and work great for my Yakima skybox. I ordered the black and they look great on my car. Having the locking feature where it attaches to the car leaves me a feeling assured that no one will steal my entire cargo top off of my car.

The media could not be loaded. I haven’t used them for their primary purpose yet, so no feedback about actually hauling loads in it. The build quality is fine. Not oem, but ok. I mounted them on 2019 Highlander XLE. And at the rear one pressed the top of the roof, the silver moulding too much. I glued washers from the LE mounting kit to the bottom of the two small pillars that protrude to the bottom and should stand on top of heads of bolts inside of the mounting space. And still, as you can see in the pictures, it pressed it way to deep and the line to the next piece of molding is not straight now. I did you a torque wrench, tightened it to the spec. ... show more
