I'm blown away at this cheap little crawler. WPL really set us up for something here. This crawler is cheap outright because most parts are plastic unless you're buying slightly upgraded versions. Now this is where we have it made, there are countless numbers of upgrade choices for this thing! Everything from chassis upgrades to shocks to two speed transmissions and motor upgrades! Everything can basically be upgraded to metal adding great weight to keep all four on the floor! It can be as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be buy how much you want to invest in it. Out of the box it's amazing and a ton of fun! It's performance over obstacles is fantastic and it's very capable. Doesn't have a ton of speed full throttle but it's a crawler, tons of control at low torque with great response from the remote control it comes with. Mine came with 3 upgraded 1200 mah 7.4 volt lithium ion batteries and these proved PLENTY of battery life for uninterrupted crawling. I wasnt crazy about the side steps so I flipped them around, added longer screws and turned them into rock sliders to protect the really nice body this thing has! I also upgraded the driveshafts to metal for rock protection. I love this purchase and can't wait to dive into it further. ... show more

These WPL trucks are great for the price! I have four of them. One broke after two hard uses. Stripped motor gears. The other three are still going strong after two months of heavy use. The replacement motor direct from WPL is $9, so it's not the end of the world. Part of hobby grade RCs is the hobby of tinkering/upgrading and model building techniques such as painting & weathering, so I have to replace a motor, no big deal. I have already upgraded all my wheels to metal ones with softer tires and installed metal drive shafts. All very cheap to do. And a huge performance gain from just those new parts. And these trucks have all metal upgrades for every part. Other high end RCs are hundreds and even thousands of dollars. These things are great out of the box and even better when upgraded. ... show more

Works well... lots of torque for it's simple low quality-esk feel and build, but solid. Note it is not fast, it's a rock crawler so it build for slow crawling. Good for beginners like me. Battery life is great really don't need 3. Steering isn't high end or the best out there with the 5+ reviews I saw but Happy it. Side note found a seller that sold just whole shell kit so ordered a white truck then a blue body with the white camper shell so I can somewhat match my truck. ... show more

6/22/24 update- STILL trying to get a replacement charger from the company. I’ve been in communications with them since November trying to get a replacement and just getting a constant run around. Horrible customer and product support. This is a super awesome little remote control truck as long as it works. It worked great the first time we used it, then the charger didn't work again, and so now it just sits there. The charging wires didn't line up properly to begin with, but charged fine the first time, as long as you figured out which wires actually lined up with the correct ones. She had a great time with it, now my daughter is just bummed her car wont charge. We tried everything to try and get it to work. I contacted the seller over six months ago, they said they were going to send a replacement charger, but am yet to hear anything back from them, or receive a replacement. Let me preface this review by saying overall, the appearance and packaging of the car was good. I like how it looks a lot. Now for the bad: -it comes with a lot of accesories to clip or screw on, which is great but there was no manual to show what goes where. -there are a lot of plastic parts in this truck, in fact the rear drive shaft which was plastic fell off outside and I cannot find it. The screw included would not tighten it down enough to hold it. Overall, I would still recommend this as a starter truck, it works and comes with a lot. But be prepared to upgrade a good amount of it before its ready to go outside. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. For the price of this little this it’s not bad at all. I was completely surprised by the amount of weight this little guy could carry was nuts. The quality doesn’t seem the best but overall this guy isn’t seeing much speed. But the inner gears being plastic might be a problem down the road. I would so get some multi purpose synthetic grease as the one that comes with the rc is that compared to water. ... show more

It's really not a rock crawler it's a lifted toy RC. I got it from the good reviews and i should have read further. - Does it drive around, yes. - Does it look pretty cool when all the accessories are attached, yes. - Does it have replaceable parts, no and this all cheap molded parts so are going to start breaking after a few tumbles. - Will cats follow it around if you put their treats in the back, no (that's not how cats work, they will get you in your sleep if you try that). Unfortunately none if it is particularly good, the suspension is terrible, the articulation for crawling makes a cyber truck look capable. The motor is weak, the steering servo lacks any real power. I won't give it one star because it's hard to get a crawler below $130, and they charged me $90 for it. This terrible bit of kit feels like taking people for a ride. ... show more

Love this thing out of the box! This was white originally but I changed it up pretty quickly. Tons if mods and upgrades out there. When I'm done with it I'll post more pics. Leave it stock if you prefer, still a ton of fun!would recommend for kids and adults of all ages!
