I added 3 of these to our propane oven in our RV and they work wonderfully. No more burnt bottoms when you're trying to do biscuits or other things that like to burn in RV ovens. The oven cooks as good our our house oven. Well worth the purchase.

Purchased a ton of these for my fireplace. It was not my first choice, but after visiting 3 separate box stores that said they had over 300+ bricks, and yet all three couldn’t find a single one, I arrived at Amazon. I was extremely hesitant at first, because they are extremely light. They almost feel like foamy particle board. In order to validate my disbelief, I vehemently submitted one to my blowtorch. 10 minutes of constant heat with MAP gas, and they held up just fine. I was able to easily cut them with my miter saw, next time I will probably use my hand saw to do it. Overall would recommend this product. I removed the old firebrick from my wood stove and replaced them. The fit was good and the increase in the heat output is amazing. The only negative thing is that one of the bricks did crack when I was tapping it into place with my rubber mallet.

This IS NOT a real fire brick, and you can NOT substitute it for applications which require a real firebrick. Product title says this is a firebrick, so if you were fooled, it's because you didn't read the 1-star reviews and the Customer Photos. A real fire brick withstands nearly 3700F and is made of ceramic material. I have these lining my fire pit, and needed some extras... THESE "bricks" are made of pressure-formed vermiculite, which MELTS at 2400F. That still sounds high, but these "bricks" are not a solid unified material. It is a granular product compressed together, meaning hot spots in one part of the brick will not wick away to other parts of the brick. This is why you see so many customer photos of melted bricks. It looks like a couple of people managed to use these in their wood stove, but enough other people had issues that I am sending these back. There is no product warning that you must NOT get these wet, that they will disintegrate if you do. ... show more
