The sticky strip was very easy and simple to install. The device attracted the gnats as described. It even caught a fly! It was no brighter than a nightlight so it wasn’t distracting to your eye. Very effective and great price point.

Probably should’ve read all the reviews first. This has been plugged in now for 11 days! Has not caught a thing. Gnats and flies creep in from the back door when the kids go out to play. I’ve been trying to catch this one fly that recently got in 2 days ago, still nothing! It is also plugged near the trashcan! Update: I ordered a replacement the replacement has definitely been working. Maybe the first was defective. It is working perfectly. I uploaded a pic for the replacement and I am now changing my 1 start to 4. ... show more

It just doesn't work as well as one would hope. I have one of these, the normal fruit fly fish traps and yet after a month, they're is v very little on this trap. The dish type traps with liquid still work much better.

I love the design as a plug in. The blue light doubles as a subtle night light. It attracts the little annoying gnats that somehow make their way into the house. Previously I was using a jar of liquid that I had to keep on the counter and although it attracted the fruit flies and gnats, I didn’t like the odor or having to deal with it on the counter or the possibility of it getting spilled. The “catcher” has only been plugged in for 4 days but it’s already caught stuff that was probably biting me at night. No new bites since it’s been plugged in. I put it in master bedroom, by door, about 15 feet from bed. I was tired of waking up to new bites on my shoulders, chest, arms and legs when I’m not under covers. Of course my husband gets zero bites. I didn’t want to use chemicals or hear zapping. By having it at door, my hope is that if the critters come down the hallway, they stop at this catcher (which is also a good night light) and not come towards bed. I put 4 stars as I was hoping to catch more, but definitely working so far (see pic) ... show more
