  • Missing fire grate.
The stove was delivered, easy to assemble, but the fire grate was missing. I tried the unit out and it needs the fire grate to gain optimum performance. If one cannot be provided, I will have to jury rig one. The unit is constructed of very durable material, and I hope the company will send a fire grate. ... show more

  • Really frustrating. Updated review
It's an L shaped Rocket Stove. K shaped breathes better. The metal wedges for setting pot wasn't measured for this model of stove. Guessing they use set for all or really bad at math. Corners are sharp and not filed. Really difficult to keep going. K shaped is better. Ungodly Heavy. I live out in the sticks with no car or way to return. I wouldn't recommend. Heat cannot be tested yet until I can get a good fire. Instructions were drawn by a person with limited art skills. Instructions need update. I thought I had extra parts. Extra screw goes into air vent. Would be nice if it could breath and i could set a pot on top without it leaning. Edit update: the Pit holders X frame is amazing and can hold a large pot. Breathable I just keep ash and main vent open but that's why it went up two stars for me. ... show more

  • Heavy duty, well designed
The media could not be loaded. Everything was more than I expected, I’m impressed. Simple to put together. The only piece that did not fit properly was the fire grate. The slots on the sides were a bit to tight to push it all the way in so the airflow door closed. Anyway no big deal. Tapped it in with a hammer. I could have filed the slots but its there tight. I’ll never lose that piece 😀. Tomorrow I’ll fire it up and maybe add to my review. Well done! Wise Moose. ... show more

  • Small but mighty!
This thing is awesome. In the description they say it weighs 21 pounds, and it weighs every ounce of it! It’s basically a cast iron take-down stove. I would like to see someone post a video of how to put it all back inside itself disassembled. Can’t figure out how to get it all back self contained. Otherwise very happy with the purchase! ... show more

  • Works quite well! The heat is easier to control than I had anticipated.
Just to test, I made breakfast with sticks and twigs from our pecan tree. Everything had a, "just right", smoke flavor.

  • I purchased to try out a ricker stove.
I have only done two test fires. It assembles ok. It stores most of the pieces inside of itself. I did not come with a bag for storage so it is a bit of a mess. The parts don't fit tightly so there seems to be a problem getting the burn to get the full heat. I used dried oak kindling for my test burn. The way it is constructed there is smoke coming out of the cracks where the vertical pipe slides in. It did warm up oil I put in a skillet but it never really got to full sizzle and oh my goodness all that soot on the outside of the skillet. I will continue to experiment with it and since we camp in the winter. I hope to get it to burn better and just use it for sitting outside instead of a big fire that uses a lot of expensive wood. ... show more
