I needed a solution for our Mazda. If you have one, you know there aren't many good places to mount a phone without blocking access or the view of something else. One of the ideal spots is in fact right in front of the vent. I've tried vent clips before and had mixed results, mostly med or poor. But I saw the mechanism with this vent clip where you place it first, then tighten slowly until everything tightens up. The mount clip spans 3 vent slats, and the cushion / pad tightens down nicely and firmly. In the Mazda, the convenience 12v outlet is low on the passenger side, which makes it a little out of the way to go fishing for the cable each time you get in the car. With this wireless mount, no longer an issue. connected the wire and tucked it in a bit, out of the way and that's it. As far as the charging mount itself, well, I picked it for it's low profile design, and clean lines, and it doesn't disappoint. Looks great, quite stable, rotates to landscape and back as needed, no problem. The mechanism itself does it's job. I've had automatic clamping mounts before, and thought they were a little slow. Not this one, this closes almost instantly, and releases when you push the button. You can push the button on either side. Once you get used to the button's location, pressing it just becomes part of your natural motion to grab the phone. I was also worried about how difficult it would be to remove the phone after turning off the car (no power). This would have been a deal breaker for me, but thankfully not an issue- the mechanism retains some power and operates normally even when the car is off. Must be a battery in there. I don't know for how long or how many times it will open and close without being plugged in, but I did it 4 times, which is 3 more than I've needed since. Finally, I used the included USB-c cable to connect the mount, and I get Fast Wireless Charging each time I place my Samsung S23, with its fairly sturdy (2mm thick) case, in the mount. So- after about two weeks of daily use- I realized I love this charging mount, so much so that I decided to take some pics and write a review. Highly recommend. ... show more

Love that it auto holds my phone, and the vent clip is the best design ive seen so far. Overall great product Original: When I use it, it'll charge my phone wirelessly for about 20 seconds then not work at all until I take it off and put it back on. Do not get if you have a S21 ultra. This thing is AWESOME! Exactly what I have been looking for. Great for long trips if you use your phone for GPS, and makes it easy to keep your phone charged when you get in and out. Never had an issue with the phone falling out of the cradle, it grips it just right. Charged through my case with no problems. Only problem is that almost one year later it is no longer sensing my phone very well, causing it to take longer to grip, and intermittently charging. I'll need to get it replaced, I might just buy another one of these! ... show more

I was getting tired of plugging in my phone to charge in the car. My wife's car has a charging mat and I wanted one. But I didn't want one that just sat on the armrest and had no other location. This works great. I didn't want to clip to the AC vents and this car had an unused CD player. Quick and easy clamp into CD slot, plug in and all set. The clamps will be closed until you start the car or otherwise get power to the clamp. The clamps will then open. Insert the phone and the clamps close. The phone immediately indicates it is charging. The clamps don't open automatically when you turn off power but there is a button on each side to open. Take the phone out and a couple seconds later the clamp closes. If your car didn't come with a charging mat, this is a great product. This one can do both air vent and CD slot but there is a version just for the air vent that is a few dollars cheaper. Highly recommend. ... show more

I bought this for my son's new car. We could not get a dashboard mount kit to work with his car as they would not stick on properly and constantly fell off due to the weight of his phone. I tried this vent mount and it worked perfectly. It is very secure and still allows for him to adjust the vent direction but is very secure and allows him to mount his phone without blocking his back up camera screen. It is a great value for the price and I am glad we found a solution for his new car. Also, the holder charges his phone, which is very convenient.
