I ordered this privacy window film to apply to the bottom half of a stacked window for the purpose of protecting my current cat from the terrible UV rays that ultimately caused cancer to my last cat's mouth, because he would always lie in the window (of another house) in the sunlight. The top half of the window pictured has a venetian blind that I pull down over it. But I wanted readers to see the difference this film makes with it off and on the window. This film has a good thickness to it, making it easy to place on window. The film came with a small cloth towel and mini squeegee, which worked exceptionally well. I did not find a spray bottle in the packaging. But, I didn't even miss it, because I had my own spray bottle with Lysol cleaner dilute in it all ready to go. I followed the directions in making the film a little larger than the window, so that I could cut edge with a (new bladed) box cutter. I sprayed the window and placed the film, then worked out all the bubbles. It was perfect!!! Then . . . I went to cut the edges. (Oh, sigh. . .) Well, this did not go well with my old wooden windows. Even though I had cleaned and vacuumed the frame prior to placing on the film, when I moved the blade along the outside edge of the windows, it irritated the old paint and I ended up with lots of paint chips going down into the unsealed edges. When I tried to clean those out without taking whole film off, they just moved down further under film. I eventually ended up taking whole film off, cleaning window and film, cutting edges of film a little shorter than the size of the window (to allow for the stretching that occurs when placing and smoothing on the window), and reapplying to the window. The second application did not go as smoothly as the first, because there still were microscopic pieces of paint chips that were still clinging to either the window or the film. So, a word to the wise: If you have old painted wood window frames, best to cut the film a quarter inch shorter, both length and width, apply to the window, and skip the cutting off edges with blade after installation. Regardless of my challenges, I do recommend this privacy film! ... show more

This privacy window film from MAGIDEKOR is easy enough to install. The best part is no adhesive…it works with static cling, so if you mess up you can pull it off and try again. Be sure to measure your window before purchasing. At just 17.5” wide, I had to take a few laps around before I got a single window done…and by then I had very little left. That’s on me though for not measuring. My son’s window faces east so his room gets very warm in the mornings even with blackout curtains. Since applying this to his window, his room is staying much cooler thank goodness! From the outside it’s like a mirror during the day. And from inside it’s a blue color. Beware though..:this is NOT 100% blackout film. If at any time (usually nighttime) the inside is brighter than the outside…this will no longer provide privacy. When he sits in his room at night, I make sure his curtains are closed because you can see right in. The film itself feels pretty thick. I like that there are grid lines…made it easy to know I was cutting straight. Description states that a spray bottle, a squeegee and a rag are included. I did not receive the rag. Not a big deal, just thought I’d mention it. Overall this product performs well during the day. Eventually I’d like to get something that also provides nighttime privacy, but for now this will work. My advice is to #1 measure before buying. #2 when you’re ready to install…be sure to clean your window thoroughly. Also I suggest spraying water with a little bit of soap before sticking the film on there. Spraying plain water works, but the soap bubbles will help this stick better and you’ll have less trouble getting the air bubbles out. ... show more

I have a 6 foot by 6 inch window in each of my two bathrooms. These windows face the West, which can get brutal sun in the afternoon. I couldn't find a suitable curtain the right size, so this reflective film was perfect. It came in a perfect size so I was able to cover both windows. It was fairly easy to install (I cut on the grid lines and used slightly soapy water for it to cling) -- it took me about 45 minutes per window. It is not flimsy like so many reflective films are -- it has a good thickness. It's got a blue tint so it matches my blue decor in the bathroom. It is not private at night when we turn on the light in the bathroom, but that's OK since we shower in the morning. I have had to reapply one of them after about a month because it came off -- but it was just as easy to reapply. It may have come off because the bathroom can get a little humid. I absolutely love everything about the MAGIDEKOR Window Privacy Film. I got this to add some privacy in my back sunroom, since the neighbors on all sides can see straight through the house when I open the shades for light and airiness. I like having the feeling of light shining through the house on sunny days, but privacy is always an issue. This privacy film is the perfect solution until the trees and plants grow in to protect from prying eyes. The blue film looks modern and upmarket as well as protects the paintings from UV light. It was enough to do all the windows facing towards the back where privacy is needed. The kit came with a squeegee, cloth and spray bottle to do the job. It was very easy to install and I love the reflectiveness during the day, it looks like it's reflecting the sky and makes the house look like it was just built. At night I close the blinds before I turn on the lights, which is exactly what I wanted. I was able to purchase smaller trees for less, now that I can wait a few years for them to grow tall enough for privacy. This privacy film saved me tons of money in the long run while adding protection and privacy at the same time. ... show more

    • This is more of a window tint than a privacy film, IMO.
I was disappointed with the level of privacy this film provided. They are still see through and not as mirror-like as I had hoped. That being said, much of this is a condition of the lighting inside and out. Ok product, just not what I had expected.
